Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

Something I believe is missing from the feature requests I've read is network telemetry (https://blogs.cisco.com/developer/its-time-to-move-away-from-snmp-and-cli-and-use-model-driven-telemetry) ; SNMP should stand for "Scalability Not My Problem" in how hard it's to make a thousands eleme...

Re: v6.45beta [testing] is released!

There were two IPv6 related issues resolved in this version: 1) IPv6 packet forwarding might get stuck (due to IPv6 route cache processing) that could lead to Watchdog reboot; 2) IPv6 neighbor table processing might get stuck (due to large neighbor table) that could lead to Watchdog reboot. Seems t...

Re: UKNOF 43 CVE

While the response for this security issue has been sub-optimal, Mikrotik attitude towards criticism comes from long time and also includes lack of features, bugs and anything different from using what is available. So while this is an escalation, it's a foreseeable development of the existing trend...

Re: Leap second bug present on TILE devices?

Leap Second was a one time only event. It has passed. You can use any release now. We will make a fix today that will make sure you don't see this issue again in 2-3 years, when next leap second happens One CCR crashed just 10 minutes ago, so it might not be a one time event. Also, some users repor...

Re: What do you all think of the EdgeRouter?

I think the Tolly Group report should have included standard Mikrotik response: "You're doing it all wrong so we are not to blame for this performance"

Is the original poster still having those issues ? The same symptoms are happening at a similar scenario.

Re: ROS v5

DHCPv6 or some other protocol is needed to supply IPv6 addresses to the LAN side of the customer router/access-point. IPv6 auto-addressing gets IPv6 address to the WAN side of the customer router. It's not clear tough what protocol is going to be the standard for the LAN-side IPv6 addressing... if R...

What 802.11n features are lost in WDS mode, and how much performance is lost due to those lost features ?

Re: RB450G is here!

Any information on what MTU Size is supported by the Ethernet Ports? 1500 is the default. 1520 is the max mtu that you can set. Tom roc-noc, is 1520 the max IP MTU or L2 MTU ? Using VLANs ? Port 1 or other ports ? May I suggest Mikrotik to update http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Maximum_Transmission_U...

Re: MPLS/VPLS testing

normis, does MT interoperate with EoMPLS (AToM) also, besides VPLS ? I'm thinking on using some RB-1000s to interoperate with Cisco ME6524, which don't do VPLS, only EoMPLS or H-VPLS.

Hotspot scalability

What are the current numbers being seen as maximum concurrent connections capacity for MT acting as Hotspot alone (no OSPF, no BGP, no wireless cards, no PPPoE server) ? We are considering both dual-core Xeon PC and RB-1000 for the task, but whas hoping to achieve two/five/ten thousand connections. ...

Hotspot Scalability

Hi @All.

What are the current numbers being seen as maximum concurrent connections capacity for MT as Hotspot ?
We are considering both dual-core Xeon PC and RB-1000 for the task.

What version is more stable for only running Hotspot with MAC-based provisioning ?

Thanks,
Rubens

"raw" chain

Hi. There is a patch for netfilter that includes a "raw" chain that is processed before PREROUTING. The two purposes are doing things before CONNTRACK and be selective about what would be tracked. Is there somewhat similar in Mikrotik ? It's much better to do incoming filtering on that cha...

good thing that we don't use zebra :)
2.9.25+ routing-test is based on Quagga, OpenBGPD, XORP or something else ?

BGP code on 2.9.25 seems very good, but it failed to do an export:
"#error exporting /routing rip interface". Will test 2.9.26/routing-test soon to check this out.
