Re: can mikrotik stop this?

We have found an inexpensive Cisco 2950 switch will do what you want. You can setup ports to be "port-protected" so they can't talk to other ports on the switch that are also port-protected. So, you put port 1 of the switch to your internet server. Then all the other links go on ports 2, 3...

Your antenna heights are incorrect. The measurement on Radio Mobile is in meters, not feet. Once you change those to the correct settings, you will see the link will not work at all.

Having all your AP's on the same channel is not going to work. When AP #1 is transmitting, AP #2 and AP #3 will not be able "hear" their customers transmitting.

So, although it is probably working, it will not scale to hundreds of users... you will be stepping on yourself.

Trango is able to do this with all of their radios (which are based on an 802.11 chipset). They call it a "receive threshold" and you set the RSSI level. Anything higher than your setting is totally ignored by the radio. This helps a great deal in noisy environments.

Even the best sector antennas in the world only have about 30db front to back ratio.... so if you put everything on the same channel, you are going to kill yourself once the sectors become loaded.

The best option is 3 x 120 degree sectors on channels 1, 6 and 11.

The 411 board is designed as a client CPE board. You can't upgrade the license to perform as an AP. But, they do have a great deal of power for the price. In a p2p link setup, I would think you could get 20MBps through two of them.

XR9 successes

Hi,

We have a large number of Trango 900mhz equipment already deployed. We are considering deploying some XR9 cards in RB333's and RB411's for smaller areas (very rural). Please share your experiences (good or bad) along with configs, examples, etc.

thanks,

Yes, we are probably in one of the most extreme temperature regions on the planet. We saw -35F this winter (without the wind chill) and last summer we hit 110F. Re: Thoughtput parameters

Your signal level is low for that distance. You should be closer to -56 on both sides. Try different channels. If that doesn't help, your antennas are not aligned properly.

Also, check the CCQ values. They should be 100/100 on both sides.
