Re: BGP Route Reflectors, how to properly configure??

How do we configure iBGP peers if we want to have two Route Reflectors for redundancy? Do we have to configure peering between RR? If yes, do we have to enable "route-reflect" on this particular peering between the two? Did you ever get an answer to this question? 2 x Route Reflectors ......

Re: all CCR crashed

Tonight a leap second will be introduced by NTP servers from all the world. I disabled NTP on all CCRs, excluding a few ones that I have at hand. Let's see how it is going this time. Well at about 00:00 UTC we had pretty much all of our CCRs crash and lock solid .. at the same time Thankfully we've...

Re: What BGP setups need to be optimized

huh... what is full view load time on cisco routers?..
No idea ... we don't use them. Juniper is generally much quicker

And tbh I was being generous with 3-5 min ....

Re: What BGP setups need to be optimized

Hi We have over 1,000 peers which we'd like to try and move onto a CCR if it ever goes multithreaded ... but for the time being in our lab we have just 4 or 5 peers throwing a full table towards the CCR and 3-5 minute load times (at least) make it impossible to use in anything like a production envi...

Re: ospf not started between microtik and cisco

Hi What do the logs on the MIkrotik say? If you don't have OSPF logging enabled you can do this in System -> Logging /system logging add topics=ospf action=memory you can then follow the log on the console using /log print follow or view it in the web browser You may find you have an MTU mismatch (t...

Re: Quickset (new in v5.12)

Hi QuickSet is great however it keeps appearing even after we have routers (CCRs) fully configured and operational I'm scared someone will click Apply without thinking and wipe out our custom configs How does RouterOS flag that a config is loaded and the Quickset menu should no longer be displayed? ...

Re: Database description packet has different master status

Sad to say that even with the latest firmware (6.22) this problem persists I've raised it directly with Mikrotik support and they've admitted that they know about it, but say don't expect it to be fixed any time soon (that was 6 months ago) This is somewhat disappointing as this is preventing us fro...

Re: MPLS - Fast reroute. When?

Also BFD is broken in 6.x as is OSPF handshaking

Both bugs confirmed by Mikrotik support but no eta for a fix :(

+1 for fast reroute from me, plus a plea for engineering resources to fix the OSPF / BFD issues asap

Re: IPv6 /127

IPv4 /31 and IPv6 /127 are not really the same thing I'm also experiencing problems with /126 addresses ... and /30 is definitely supported if you were to use that analogy Using /64 is wasteful ... but the major problem is the possibility of DDoS from all that additional ping-pong traffic +1 for /12...

Re: MPLS and VPLS with Traffic Engineering Lab Setup

Apologies for resurrecting such an ancient thread, however I'm seeing exactly the same problem here and struggling to get my head around the configs or the wiki descriptions This is using 6.13 and a mixture of RB450 and RB750 routers in a lab (with a view to rolling out multiple 1016, 1036 and 1072'...

Did you find a way of making the OSX client's work / obtain an IPv6 address in the end?
