Re: Case for RB953GS-5HnT

Hi Belgarion168, could you please tell us exactly what hardware you used in that setup on the photo? I won a MikroTikRB953GS at the MUM in Zürich, and want to use it as a 5GHz Home Router, because the 2,4 GHz Band here is so overloaded. Re: RB953GS-5HnTFor home use

Depends on the bandwidth of your WAN connection. This thing does 400-480Mbps (100% CPU load) with a basic set of stateful firewall rules and without any policy-based routing.

For my case, it's grossly underpowered and I've since replaced it with a CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+PC.

Facing the same problem with Webfig on the RB850Gx2 too (ROS 6.20).

It definitely seems to be a QA issue because we have dozens in service with no issues but then we hit a block of three in a row that failed like this then back to another string of no failures...
Hi, were those 3 failures in a row from the latest batch (i.e. Sep 2014) ?

Thanks. By the sounds of it I'll have to look into the CCR models. Of the throughput figures posted among the specs, is the slowest one the most realistic use-case? I'm rather puzzled. Are you saying that prior to ROS 6.18, you're able to get the 1G SFP transceiver in SFP+1 cage to auto-negotiate with the CCR1036-12G-4S ?

As far as I know, 1G SFP transceivers (or 10G SFP+ manually set to 1G) on the CRS226 just don't work on any ROS before 6.18.

Re: CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ General info & Questions

Re: RB250GS stuck in ACT LED fast flashing mode

Update :

The RB250GS is now working properly again thanks to Janis from MikroTik who advised me to install using SwOS v.1.9 (instead of v.1.10).

RB250GS stuck in ACT LED fast flashing mode

Hi, I’ve an RB250GS and it is stuck in ACT LED fast flashing mode once power is applied to it rendering it totally unusable. It was working well on SwOS 1.06 but the upgrade to 1.10 failed (no response after waiting for 15 minutes). I’ve tried to push (& hold) the RESET button while powering up ...
