Re: Can I connect MikroTik RB951Ui-2HnD to Ubiquiti Rocket M2 trough Mikrotik PoE out port?

Yes, you can power the Ubiquiti Rocket M2 from the PoE Out port on the RB951 as far as I can tell, as long as you power the RB951 with a 24v power supply since the PoE Out voltage is the same as the RouterBoard's input voltage. :D The PoE In port is labelled as such because it's the only port which ...

Controlling a local wireless interface on an RB2011 CAPsMAN as a CAP

I've never used CAPsMAN before today, so I've probably overlooked something simple. On my RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN I installed the wireless-cm2 package and enabled the CAPsMAN Manager. Then on an RB951Ui-2HnD on the same network I installed the same wireless package and enabled CAP with the interface set ...

Windows' Network Discovery stopped working with F/W'd bridge

Hey, Today I enabled "Use IP Firewall" under bridge settings, and added some rules to block SSH traffic from computers not in an address list and only allow NFS to one computer. After configuration however I've noticed that Windows clients can only see themselves under "Network". Here are my firewal...

Sorry for replying to an old topic, but I made the blue "Route the world with MikroTik" wallpaper larger so it fits on my phone's screen. Here it is in case anyone else wants it:

Re: Routering local traffic over VPN

If I understand what you mean, you can create a prerouting mangle rule to mark packets from ether2 as VPN or similar, and then use the same routing mark for the route to 10.0.0.0/8 :)

Don't forget to create a masquerade NAT rule for everything going through the VPN.

Re: Winbox display issue in Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Embarrassingly minutes after this post I found the solution after searching another time.

This post helped out. Turns out it was caused by eXtra Buttons.

[SOLVED] Winbox display issue in Windows 7 Professional

It seems Winbox is having issues display correctly on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system (I'm using a custom theme. This problem still occurs using the default theme). This only started happening a few weeks ago, however I vaguely remember possibly having this issue with Wine a few months back....

Re: Some DNS queries are going to my ISP's DNS servers

As you mention BT, I assume you have a PPOE client set up to connect to the FTTC modem?

If so, uncheck 'use peer DNS' in the PPOE interface

Brilliant, thanks!

[SOLVED] Some DNS queries are going to my ISP's DNS servers

I'm wanting all devices on my network to use my router as their DNS server, and this works fine in that all devices are reporting their DNS server as the router, however some DNS queries are going to my ISP's DNS servers even though I have specified 4 other servers: http://i.imgur.com/s099U47.png I'...

Re: Providing wrong DNS address to clients

If the clients get their network settings by dhcp, then you can either set the router to resolve ip addresses for you... /ip dns set allow-remote-requests=yes or set the dns server yourself. /ip dhcp-client network set X dns-server=8.8.8.8 Replace X with the line number of the network. If you don't...

[SOLVED] Providing wrong DNS address to clients

I had an issue tonight that's taken me a while to resolve. Devices were unable to resolve domains, and when I checked, their DNS addresses were set to 192.168.88.1. The router's address is 192.168.1.1, and I want it to be the DNS server (it uses Google's DNS). How can I fix this? Currently, I have a...

Re: wlan* no longer shows on LCD's "all interface graph scre

I managed to fix it (sort of). :? After spending some time looking around in the /lcd menu, I found this out: [admin@MikroTik] /lcd interface pages> print Flags: * - default 0 * interfaces=sfp1,Internet,Desktop,R. Pi,BT TV,ether5,ether6-master-local,ether7-slave-local,ether8-slave-local,ether9-slave...

Cannot SSH to device on LAN from WAN

I'm not the most experienced (I'm learning), and I thought I had everything set in place for SSHing into a device on the LAN, but when I try to SSH in from the WAN I SSH into the router and not the device on the WAN. My RB is behind a modem and is connected to the Internet via PPPoE. Here are my NAT...

wlan* no longer shows on LCD's "all interface graph screen"

Last night I set up my new RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN. Today I noticed that it was running 6.1 and 6.7 had been released, so I updated. Now, after updating to 6.7, no wireless interfaces show on the LCD screen in the "all interface graph screen" view. Previously, "wlan1" would have appeared below "BT TV": h...
