Re: Capsman v2 + wpa2-eap + server 2012 NPS

Anybody else gotten anywhere with this? I had to give up and stop using CAPsMAN and RADIUS due to other projects.

Thanks!

Re: wAP configuration

It is ridiculous to have a default config on a 2 port device that disables 1 port and blocks access to the other! Would it not be possible to use one default config for the routers for security, and a different one for APs? That would make way more sense! If I wasn't so sold on MikroTik and had been...

Re: Capsman v2 + wpa2-eap + server 2012 NPS

After configuring Windows 2012 NPS, FreeRADIUS AND Windows 2008 NPS, all giving the same results, it leads me to wonder if there is a problem that has been introduced into the RouterOS at some point. I found a post where it mentions that in 6.24 or 6.25 RADIUS works, but in 6.28 it does not. Also nu...

Re: Capsman v2 + wpa2-eap + server 2012 NPS

I am having a similar issue. Apparently this is not possible at this point in time, or MikroTik Support does not know how to configure it. Everything they have told me over the last 3 weeks has not worked, and they claim they see nothing coming back from the RADIUS server. Does Windows not respond t...

Re: IGMP Snooping

I currently have over 30 Cisco 48 port PoE switches in place, and have been working out details on how I can upgrade to MikroTik for speed, however, this is the only hurdle I have to get over in order to make this fly! Between this and the 6.21.1 fiasco regarding introduction of bugs rather than bug...

Re: v6.21.1 released

TO: MikroTik FROM: User at large RE: MikroTik products As a relatively new user of MikroTik products, specifically routerboards and such, it saddens me to see such poor Quality Control on your software releases. I do not expect a reply on this email, but hear me out! I have been in IT for over 20 ye...

Re: IGMP Snooping

I am glad I came across this thread! We have been planning for several months a full scale deployment of MikroTik CRS125 to all of our tower sites to segregate broadcast domains. However, if IGMP snooping is not implemented in the CRS125, then this becomes a moot point since there is so much multica...

Re: VLANs or routing

I would look closely at the CRS-125 series' current "layer 3 switch" performance before assuming that it is better than a traditional router for a given task. There seem to have been several posts from people whose assumptions about the CRS had not held up. Running OSPF at each tower may well make ...

VLANs or routing

Hoping someone can help with this project. I have a large wireless ISP network that I have been given the opportunity to re-design due to selling the existing ISP business, although there are a handful of large business customers we are keeping. I was initially wanting to place managed switches at e...

Re: Feature Requests for 7.x for improved network security

What has TACACS (Terminal Access Controller Access-Control System) to do with authenticating network devices? As far as I know TACACS is only used for authenticating users that want to access the router (= the admins) .. it has nothing to do with network security or I'm mistaken? My understanding b...

Re: Feature Requests for 7.x for improved network security

Additional feature request for improved security would be adding TACACS support! RADIUS is old, much less secure, and seriously lacking in logging features on the administration side of routers! If not, then I am seriously having to look at replacing a few dozen MikroTik RB's with a product that is ...

Re: Banging my head trying to configure Cloud Switch CRS125-

Guess I should have searched more diligently to find this post. I have almost the same exact issue. I can create a single trunk port, however, I am going to need at least 3 more trunk ports on the same device. We provide wireless high speed data connections to rural businesses, and have several larg...

Problem with 802.1q trunking

I am trying to setup a CRS125 to allow for multiple trunk ports. We have a tower site that is a distribution point for multiple customers, and we need to extend VLAN management beyond this site. I have a trunk link to this main site, and have 3 other sites being fed from the main site that will have...
