Re: v7.4rc1 is released!

For 802.11r - you mentioned 'local' interfaces. Does this include those connected/generated by CAPsMan? Could you define 'local' in this case?

Re: MikroTik used by Amazon in their cloud datacenters

Sadly, it looks like the footage was probably all from inside the Raging Wire data center and not an AWS data center. It was still good to see it being used though.

Re: v6.38.5 [current]

For some reason when we upgraded from 6.38.3 to 6.38.5 on our CCR, it seems to have blanked the config of The Dude completely. All of our network maps and devices are gone. Starting over isn't going to be the end of the world, but it would be a lot easier if we don't have to. If anyone has any good ...

Re: HomeVPN

This is only in HomeAP mode, your device doesn't have Wireless, so Quickset has a different set of features. It will be added to Ethernet only routers in next versions. Ahhh, okay. Thanks for the clarification. Your newsletter didn't list any stipulations, so you may want to clarify that. Edit: Oka...

HomeVPN

Am I the only one that's not seeing the new HomeVPN quickset option in 6.16? Or maybe it's there and I'm just blind to it.

I'm on a 750GL, just in case it's model specific.

Re: Metal 9HPn

Wooohooo, they replied back to me. Here's the info so far, thanks to Kristaps: Regarding metal 9 using Advanced Channels with metal you can use channel width minimum 2.5mhz and steppings 0.5mhz 0 list=one name="ch1" frequency=913.5 width=2.5 band=2ghz-b/g/n extension-channel=eC but it will...

Re: Metal 9HPn

I found this, and it gets me closer to where I want to be. Maybe this will help me ask the question in the right way:

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Wi ... d_Channels

With the chipset in the Metal 9HPn (AR9283), what is the step, the width range, and the width step?

Re: Metal 9HPn

I started another thread on this, but apparently I missed this one. Sadly, it doesn't seem there's an answer in either of them. Does anyone know what channel widths are available on these, and how flexible the channel selection is? For example, it would be fantastic if we could do something like 921...

Re: Metal 9HPn

Does anyone have an answer on this one? I wrote in to sales last week, but still not a peep from them, other than an automated notice that a ticket had been opened about it. The channel width and frequency selection options should be pretty straight forward information for them to give out, unless I...

Metal 9HPn

Forgive me if this has been asked elsewhere, but I wasn't able to find it. I was curious what frequencies are allowed to use with this unit, and what channel widths as well? Can we step between channels by .1 increments, 1Mhz increments, or is it something else entirely? I ask because we currently u...

Re: CoDel support?

If you want CoDel support you should use OpenWrt instead of Mikrotik OS on your Routerboard, it works great! That's most certainly a good tip for anyone that only wants CoDel and doesn't necessarily care about the OS, but I'm really wanting to see it specifically on RouterOS, and I don't see a reas...

CoDel support?

This might be answered elsewhere, but I couldn't really find a definite answer via the forum search function, so I figured I'd throw it out there. Are there any pending plans to support CoDel in a coming version of RouterOS? I know many people are using RouterBoard boxes on only very high bandwidth ...

Re: Trouble with a multiple gateway setup

Unless I'm misunderstanding, that's what the masquerade should be doing, if you're talking about the traffic from GroupB that should be going out port 1. For the traffic going out port 3, the NAT happens later on down the line at another router, and that traffic is working as it should.

Trouble with a multiple gateway setup

I'm pretty new to Mikrotik, but pretty impressed with what I've seen out of the RB750G boxes we bought so far. However, I'm having some trouble with a pretty non-standard setup I'm trying to run on one, and I was hoping someone can point me to where I'm going wrong here. Here's what I've got: Router...

Well, I found an interesting thing upon some further investigation, and I hope this helps the developers some. In Windows Server 2003, if you log into Windows as 'Administrator', you can see the device labels. However, if you log in as any other user name (even if it has system administrator privile...

I have experienced the same issue. Our Dude server runs on Windows 2003 Server, and running the client locally results in no labels being displayed (which makes it much harder than you might expect to navigate the maps properly). When connecting to the same server with a Windows XP machine, all is g...

SNMP only working on some devices?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm missing something (I'm leaning towards bug right now), but I can only get SNMP information from about half the devices on my network. Devices with identical hardware and settings are 50/50 as to whether Dude will read SNMP information from them. I've tried re-...
