Re: RB4011iGS+RM Questions

I'm wondering if this is a compatible SFP+ Transciever for the RB4011iGS+RM. https://www.fs.com/products/11552.html Yes, it is compatible. Would it work with a Cisco 10G DAC, or since its probably passive more than likely not? Or a 1G SFP transceiver until I upgrade to 10G. https://www.fs.com/produ...

Also, does anyone know of a guide that can be used to convert a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter config to a routerboard config?

CRS326-24S+2Q+RM Question

Hello, I'm in the planning stages of a core network upgrade at work and as part of that, we are looking to replace our ProCurve Switch 2824 (J4903A), which is currently configured to route all traffic between our subnets. I have a couple of questions about the CRS326-24S+2Q+RM. Can it be used to rou...

Re: CRS309-1G-8S+IN Boot?

I was able to figure it out, saw that it had a DHCP option for SwOS but didn't realize it didn't do anything. Set the second NIC in my desktop to the subnet I set the switch to and all is good.

CRS309-1G-8S+IN Boot?

I just got two CRS309-1G-8S+IN to use for an upcoming production environment upgrade. However, when I switch them to SwOS they do not seem to boot. I get activity on the NIC, but I am unable to connect to the management IP I pre-configured before rebooting the switch. Does anyone have a suggestion o...

Re: hAP ac no Internet on LAN

Include a "in-interface=<Your WAN Interface>" parameter. As it is, the destination 443 rule is catching all 443 traffic.
That did it, thank you. I wish more guides online would have that included.

hAP ac no Internet on LAN

I am in the process of setting up my hAP ac to replace my Meraki MX64. Initially, I had Internet access on it, but now I have lost it, I cannot think of a reason for this unless I have my NAT rules wrong. # feb/18/2019 12:33:38 by RouterOS 6.43.12 # software id = RSZ9-Z8D6 # # model = RouterBOARD 96...

Limit NAT to specific source IP

I am setting up my hAP ac to replace my Meraki MX64 and one port forward rule is set to only allow traffic from the main IP we have at work. Does that go in the src-address field? I just want as close to a drop in replacement as possible when I get home tonight :) And as everything sits on my hAP ac...

hAP ac LAN over SFP

Looking at my hAP ac it says the SFP jack is supposed to be used for WAN only. Can it be configured as a LAN port instead of a WAN port?

Re: hAP ac as router only?

Went to plug in my hAP ac to work on configuring it today and ran into an issue. Can't find my power adapter for it. What size plug is it so I can find the correct one on Amazon?

And my assumptions for how to do what I want are correct, right? I know I will have to find my old posts here about IPv6 PD but that is ok.

hAP ac as router only?

I'm currently running a full Meraki stack at home but I'm rather upset at the lack of IPv6 support on the WAN interface on my router. So I am planning on going back to my hAP ac and using it as just a router so I can get IPv6 support on my network. Am I correct in thinking that I would just follow h...

Re: hAP AC as wireless bridge

Yes. Just bridge the wireless and ethernet interfaces.
Got it working, only thing I'm having an issue with is that it isn't passing IPv6 SLAAC through to the computer behind it. Not a huge deal, but I would like IPv6 working.

hAP AC as wireless bridge

I'm sure its in the documents somewhere and I'm just not able to find it. But it is possible to use a hAP AC as a wireless bridge where in it uses its WiFi radio to connect to a network as a normal client and then pass traffic to the switch built into it?

IPv6 PD and specify DNS servers?

I currently have IPv6 PD setup with Spectrum (FKA Charter) and I would like to use OpenDNS' IPv6 DNS servers instead of the Charter's. Maybe I'm just not quite understanding the CLI enough yet, but is this possible?

Re: hAP ac Killing connections from outside

Study this example carefully. You'll need to add fasttrack and ipsec support to it, if you really need that. Keep your input and forward chains separated to make sense of things. Order is important (for each chain), naturally. /ip firewall filter add chain=input action=accept connection-state=estab...

hAP ac Killing connections from outside

I have my hAP ac setup to forward three ports to my home server remote access card (think IP based KVM). The problem is, after a while it kills the connection that is used to send and receive data from it so I have log back in and start it up again. Below is all the relevant info I can think of. Por...

Re: Question about the hAP ac

And the RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT-US version would come with a US wall wart right?
An US wall wart, AND with the wireless locked on the US frequencies - with no way to change. A legal requirement, by the US law.
Yeah, the locked frequencies doesn't bother me.

Yes, most MikroTik products can route. At the bottom of the product page, you can see routing performance.
Ahh, didn't scroll far enough down. Now I know what to get if I cannot fix my ERX-UAP setup.

Question about the hAP ac

Can the hAP ac be used as a router/AP combo or can it only function as an AP? From my reading, it appears it can do the router/AP combo but I want to make sure. My home connection is a Spectrum cable connection with a 60Mbps download and a 5Mbps upload (on a good day).

CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD-IN as a home router

Since my Linksys router died on me again, I am looking at replacing all my home networking hardware with enterprise grade hardware. Right now I won't have any VLANs or anything (in an apartment) but I am considering adding some in the near future to break my VoIP devices into their own VLAN and I wa...
