Re: Cloudcore CPU maxing out and bridge interface pinned at 1.44Tb/s!!

I've updated to 6.38.3, and changed the config so that the bridge is no longer needed. That used to form part of an RSTP ring, but no longer does, so I can now route between the two interfaces. We'll see if the issue returns.

So this happened tonight on a Cloudcore: Screen Shot 2017-03-03 at 12.17.42 AM.png The router was totally unresponsive, and stopped passing data. The issue resolved itself as quickly as it appeared, and we didn't have to reboot the router at any point. The physical interfaces all dropped to 0kps, th...

Ah that was much better, thank you!

I am guessing based on the example, that despite the ROS interface saying DSCP it actually wants the number in 802.1p format. ie the 5.

That little cut and paste will save me hours of effort!

If anything it is a huge starting point.

Thanks!

I see this in the log in the switch:

FFI: port 22-Excessive CRC/alignment errors. See help.
FFI: port 22-Excessive late collisions.

RB333 Full duplex eth drops packets

I have a RB333 installed with about 180 feet of cable and a 28V high end regulated power supply. In 100mbit half duplex it works generally but we sometimes loose the eth link and have to reboot it. If we enable full duplex about 15% of pings are dropped. The radio we used to have in the role was non...

Re: RB333 Works Great but Quirky

We did not mention anything about OSPF. We have not even tried that yet. And also we are comparing a Star-OS WAR 566mhz board to the RB333. So far the RB333 is faster. We also had to set one end of the link's ethernet to half duplex or we would see packet loss on the ethernet. It is about a 200ft ru...

Re: RB333 - how powerful is it?

We have a pair of RB333 as our main feed with 1700 2-5mbit clients and it works great. But we had to use nstreme with polling to get the link to work properly but now it is the fastest SBC I have ever used. Much faster than WAR, RB500 etc.

RB333 Works Great but Quirky

After reading the specs for the new RB333 boards, we were very impressed. Our StarOS WAR boards (IXP425) were beginning to see high latency and dropped packets at peak hours, and we were starting to shop around for options. Our WAR link was running in turbo mode, using Ubiquiti XR5 radio cards and S...

Re: Nstreme Dual Questions?

Has anyone tried a single standard antenna with a combiner? I would be likely using the hyperlink one (seems to be the only one I have found) and put them in separate bands. One in 5.3 and the other up in 5.8.

Re: what motherboards works with router os

What processors will work? I am upgrading my current core router from a p4 2.6ghz as I need more speed to support L7 packet inpection.

Will dual core processors or multiple processors help?

If not, what is the fastest processor option on the market today for using with MT?

In my case I do not know if the cold is the root casue, but it is certainly what casues the problem.

I have put some pieces of fibreglass insulation in the cabinets to see if the boards can keep themselves warm but not too warm.

Now that we are not -40 anymore all works flawlessly.

One SR5 each.

When they go down I loose the entire AP from the ethernet side.

That is false, wind chill only effects wet things like animals. Dry things like electronics are not effected by wind chill.

Nearly half my RB532 go down at -20.

Those pictures are impressive but usually condions like that only appear at about -5 - -10 C. Any colder and it gets to dry to form ice like that.

I have a problem that about half of my RB500 series start to reboot and lock up at -20C.

I have 12 RB532 deployed right now and usually about 6 of them will go down at -20C.

What would be s e x y is two options related to this. - The ability to set the RTS to 1 in non-MT clients and then MT gives CTS in a round robin fashion. Hence pseudo polling but with any 802.11 CPE. - A windows client program that will allow packing packets right in windows. I am sure I could talk ...

Option 4 is what I've been setting up on our WISP Route an IP block to the MT Router (AP) big enough to give one address to each client + however many spare you think you might need soon, assign one of these to the router. Then get the CPE to PPPoE into the MT Router and hand out one of the adresse...

MikroTik Refuses to do give us a MAC NAT option, so WDS is your only option. (dig through the forum, I've made a number of comments about it) I thought I listed several other options? setup your AP as WDS dynamic (Bridge1 as the default), set CPE as station WDS, on the station bridge E1 and W1, on ...

Building a 3000+ CPE network, looking for advice

We have outgrown 802.11b on our network using Star-OS and Tranzeo with about 1500 clients. So we have decided to build a 802.11a/Nstreme network for our next 3000 clients. I have a few challenges with the exact deployment we will use. I want to be able to use full Class C's (Or larger) to make sure ...

Whoa, that is a neat protocol. IT would only help one way since our CPEs are all non-mikrotik.

But something to keep in mind.

Would it work if only one end is MT?

Do traffic shapping on the client router insted of the AP this will stop unwanted traffic pialing up on the wireless side, put a cap on the amount of p2p sessions per sec. I have 1200 802.11b client CPEs made by tranzeo owned by my clients I must support. Replacing them with mikrotik would cost nea...

I am trying to find a way to do queues based on packets per second. It seems that is the limiting factor in 802.11b and if we can control that, then we will be in a better position.

Unfortunately all the queuing I can find is based on kb/s not pps.

I can shape packets per second and it stops DOS type attacks, P2P induced latency and such but it makes the internet choppy. You get all your packets in the first /14 second and them spend 3/4 of a second with no connection then it repeats, every second. Works but is kinda a dis disjointed experienc...
