I have recently upgraded a 1036 to a 1072 at one of my sites and I am using the S-RJ-01 module for many of the connections. I have noticed over the last 2 years or so that as we have replaced the 1100Ahx2 routers with the 1100AHx4 the x4's seem to have an issue where they partially lockup. As long as your access control policies are in place you should be fine. and example would be to only allow access to a service from a specific set of "safe" addresses. To do this create an address list then add an input and forward rule at the top of your firewall list to allow all "...

I would suggest jumping the reset point on the board with a screwdriver (or something else that is metal). It should be a small hole with metal semicircles around it. Hold the screwdriver on it when you connect power. It should make some odd beeps as it boots. After that login with admin no password.

Re: need help

It seems that what you are doing should work just fine. If you and your friend want to set up failover through each others ISPs it is possible if a gateway is added. Without a default gateway pointing at each others routers you will not be sharing internet connections.

Re: Inital Setup help

I would need more information to help you. Can you send an output of your configuration and what you are trying to achieve?

Re: port forwarding for ip cam

I also have this problem but the question I have about the last comment is this, by just opening port 80 is that opening to vulnerabilities? or is that only forwarding it to the specified NAT rule? The second set of rules was intended to work with the dst-nat rules so port 80 is open to the NATed a...

Re: Multiple DHCP assigned public IPs via single interface

Just out of curiosity why don't you just add multiple static addresses to your WAN port? If you know the address range and the subnet you should be able to manually add the addresses...

Re: Firewall rule

I created the following rule on RB2: chain:Forward. In, Interface: ether1 (network 2 side) Out. Interface: ether2 (Management port). Action: Drop. there is no ping after this rule created between both network Can this rule stop any traffics between both ports? is it better to choose any other Chain...

Re: port forwarding for ip cam

If you are using the default firewall in the MT you will have to add these rules to the beginning of your list:

/ip firewall filter
add chain=input dst-port=80 protocol=tcp action=accept
add chain=input dst-port=80 protocol=udp action=accept

Re: basic setting for the AP

I think what you are trying to do is easier than the default config is allowing. First I would remove default config. Then just add all ports to bridge. Next add LAN IP address to the bridge interface. Finally add static default gateway. Basically like this: /interface bridge add name=LAN /interface...

Re: port forwarding for ip cam

You need to change your rules to include your public IP address. /ip firewall nat add action=dst-nat chain=dstnat dst-address=PUBLIC_IP_ADDRESS dst-port=80 \ protocol=tcp to-addresses=192.168.88.36 add action=dst-nat chain=dstnat dst-address=PUBLIC_IP_ADDRESS dst-port=80 \ protocol=udp to-addresses=...

Re: Trouble connecting to router over PPTP

More information is needed to help troubleshoot you issue. I would suggest looking at differences in IP firewall filter settings first. I usually set up VPNs manually through PPP options.

Re: 2 Wan fail-tolerance configuration!

If you are trying to do an easy failover then all you need to specify are 2 default gateways. The second with a higher distance than the first. /ip route add check-gateway=ping distance=1 dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=WAN1IPaddress add check-gateway=ping distance=10 dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=WAN...

Re: ISP Firewall Best Practices

That is a script that my predecessor came up with. It is a good place to start. Be careful working with firewall templates though, it is easy to block traffic that you intent to allow. I tend to use this as a starter firewall and then customize it to meet my needs. #Secure your MikroTik Firewall #He...

I have already sent them a message. I thought maybe someone else may have already encountered this problem and had an answer. I have some other 40mm fans that I can put in the routers but they only have two wires.

RB1100AHx2 replacement fans

I am trying to find replacement fans for router model RB1100AHx2. I have a couple of these routers that have been in the field for a few years that have been performing well but the fans have failed. If anyone could give me any information on replacement parts or where to find them, it would be much...
