Re: RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN: Please help me understand the difference in throughput with these two master/slave switch config

Hi Guys. I have reset my routerboard and this is an export. Did not use QuickSet this time and just added a bridge and DHCP client on the bridge and then set up the switch ports. With this base config I get the same results. Bridging is faster than switching when testing with speedtest.net and the d...

RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN: Please help me understand the difference in throughput with these two master/slave switch configs.

Hi Forum, I have a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN behind a pfSense router. The RB2011 was my main router before I got pfSense. I want to use it as a simple AP + switch. The Routerboard is set to WISP AP: bridge mode, the version is 6.28 reinstalled via netinstall. ether1 is connected to the pfSense router which...

Re: UPnP does not create dynamic rules in ip firewall filter

I just wanted to revisit this because I think MikroTik has a solution for this problem now. With RouterOS 6.22rc7 you can have a forward chain accept rule for only dst-natted connections. They added a "Connection NAT State" matcher for dstnat, srcnat or both. add chain=forward connection-nat-state=d...

*) stores are replaced with folders and disks are now managed under /disk menu;

Where can I add a folder instead of a store? Can't seem to find how to do it.
The manual still references the stores.

Re: UPnP does not create dynamic rules in ip firewall filter

I know that the forward chain is for packets going through the router. I saw chain=forward action=drop in the Firewall section of the Learn RouterOS by example book and numerous firewall rules on this forum. Another example is the wiki http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Protecting_your_customers So I tho...

Re: UPnP does not create dynamic rules in ip firewall filter

I have to add a filter rule on my forward chain for every dst-nat rule I make.

ditonet do you have a "drop everything else" rule at the end of your forward chain?
chain=forward action=drop

Re: Port forwarding not working

Hello Walter, I think the first red rule in the list is not needed at all. The input chain is for connections to services on the router itself. For example to login via SSH via internet. Or Winbox from inside your LAN. The second red rule is ok. The third red rule needs in-interface=ether1-gateway a...

ticking sounds after enabling silent-boot

Hi, I bought a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN a few weeks ago and I absolutely love this device, never going back to a "basic" home router. I enabled silent-boot with /system routerboard settings set silent-boot=yes in the terminal. The startup beep is gone now but the router is making little ticking sounds. It...
