Yep I saw that works, but need to implement this on possibly 100 AP', so 10000 static routes would be crazy. I'm trying OSPF now. Still not getting it to work yet though. Got the backbone one 192.168.0.0/24 and then AP on 10.0.0.0/24

only wlan2 is on a bridge together with wds. the idea is to make wlan1 the Access Point and the WDS links the backhaul. This will be a long daisychain of RB's.

Sorry for not making it too clear, ok, the wlan1 isnt shown on the diagram, but each RB has a wlan1 and obviously a wlan2 which in my case is bridged with WDS to the next one. Trying to get the wlan1 on each RB to ping the wlan1 on the next one.
Hope this kind of clarifies it more.

Routing over WDS

Hi, I've been trying to get this working for a few days but no luck. I have 3 RB's connected via WDS (on wlan2). Now, i can ping all the wlan2 (WDS) ip's from any RB, but i can't reach the wlan1 (AP-Bridge) interfaces of any RB's. I kinda know what it has to do routing wise, but dont know how to tel...

i did all sorts of stuff in the serial console before i got mine working. formatted stuff etc. dont know if that has relation to get it working again.
My RB didnt even have an IP address anymore, it was completely dead.

Managed to fix it, you need a null modem type serial cable. connect via hyperterminal. when you power up the router you should see some text coming up and something that says 'press anykey with 1 sec for menu' try to do that. you will then get a menu. press menu option 'o' then 'e', this will set it...

How do I upgrade the firmware or OS now? Every file ive tried says 'invalid file id' or something like that. If anyone can help, please, p...

Yes, I was thinking now of using 3 cards per RB, 1 for AP and then 2 for the backhaul. Keeping the AP's on the same SSID and Ch, and then hopping channels and different SSID's on the backhaul links.

Hopefully that would preserve bandwidth as the daisy chain goes along.

I'm going to be doing something exactly as shown in the picture, this is going to run in an underground tunnel with max 10 AP's in a line. Using the WDS won't the bandwidth halve with each hop?
