Re: UDPXY alternative for mikrotik

Please, please, please, a udpxy module to augment the multicast module?? Multicast TV is effectively useless over WiFi links because WiFi shifts to its slowest (and most noise-immune) speed for broadcast-like packets. Besides that, experience indicates that Windows 10 can be fragile in the multicast...

Re: Obsolete connection table entries

Hello sebastia -- Interesting. I never thought there might be a difference. As it happens, I have been using masquerade. It appears that the obsolete connection table entries are being kept alive by periodic registrations from the Asterisk server on my LAN to other SIP servers, my SIP-trunking suppl...

Re: Obsolete connection table entries

Hello sindy -- My "worker" script runs every couple of minutes. On average it hangs about once a day within the statement /ip firewall connection remove [find reply-src-address="192.168.1.10:5060" protocol=udp]; even though that statement is inside a do {} block with an on-error clause. (I know exac...

Obsolete connection table entries

Fellow MikroTik enthusiasts -- My ISP assigns me a single dynamic public IPv4 address, and I run a small Asterisk SIP server on my LAN. In my MikroTik router I run a once-per-minute script that looks into the router's DHCP client and updates a dynamic DNS server if the public IPv4 address has change...

Any answers yet? Did you try it yourself? I asked the same question today to support@mikrotik.com, and if I don't get an answer in the next few days, I'll try it myself on a test bench.

Re: v6.35rc [release candidate] is released, new wireless package!

Yes it can. Change wlan1 to station pseudobridge, connect it to a Wi-Fi network by using the scan function. (Remember to setup a security profile if needed for Wi-Fi encryption.) Then setup firewall to src NAT that interface. Create a Virtual AP on the same interface. Ensure both wlan1 and the Virt...

Re: v6.35rc [release candidate] is released, new wireless package!

I installed the v6.35rc21 firmware bundle and matching wireless-rep in a RBmAP-2nD access point (1 Ethernet, 1 2.4GHz wireless). I tried the new wireless repeater mode, which uses the one physical wireless interface as a station virtual interface bridged to an access point virtual interface, and it ...
