if you use hotspot, you do have access to the web files in the hotspot folder. I guess you can upload some PDFs there then
Sorry for re-necroposting:

Would be possible show content of hotspot folder from browser by typping http://hotspotaddress.com/img?

Thanks in advance.

Do not be silliy since there is no RFC for releases labeling. Mikrotik is free for using its own system. Use bugfix for higher security. Bugfix is auto-explanatory. For me current is safe enough and love having RC's available with latest features although it is more risky!!!

Use Capsman.
You cant move a client from one AP to another, but you can use access-list to kick users with low signal . This will trigger the users equipment to search for the SSID again and will (hopefully) connect to the best one.

Re: (seamless) roaming wireless / CAPsMAN

You can fine tunning roaming using accest lists
What do you mean by that
You can force roaming and the device has nothing to do with that. Devices does not apreciate when ap has changed. For them, the ap is always the same!

It seems like a hardware problem. We have replaced the six faulty basebox2 with new ones and no more problems. There are reports of faulty poe injectors/power adaptors causing similar issues. Try changing all these power related stuff first.

If your AP's are NOT Mikrotik then you can NOT use CapsMan. Your config becomes more complicated now if you can not manage your AP's from a single point. Do not focus in your ISP available bandwith, I think your problems are in how the hardware is configured and deployed.

I plan to by a RB911G-2HPnD and a RB911G-5HPnD for AP. But they have Licence Level 3 : no Wireless AP permitted :-( But what about in CAPsMAN configuration? Re: CAPsMAN v2 ready for testing

Hi to all, We have a all-in-one solution with radius(usermanager) for hotspot and wireless clients thanks to capsman. Features like CoA for wireless and EAP authentication using username/password for UserManager are missing but are in mikrotik's to-do list. With alternatives and some scripting we ar...

I think all is ok. The Access list is a list for accessing. Once accessed no more actions performed. se this script: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=91485

Hope it helps.

Re: Feature request: CAPsManager - roaming

First of all - roaming is always a client decision; When to roam, what AP to roam to, what band (2.4 or 5) to prefer. FALSE AP can kick a client if weak signal, max clients reached or member of load balancing group forcing roam. nb: I say badly but the reality is that MT is designed as a fixed loca...

Two days working on it and no solution yet. When "Radius accounting" is activated in CAPSMAN Access list tab, active sessions are created in usermanager but they stay forever. Manual killing is the only way to remove. I've tested the same with a rb2011 with local AP config, and userman Wor...

I think here is something that makes me having miltiple "active sessions starts" for the same MAC in usermanager using CAPSMAN. While with an unique local ap the accounting is well done in usermanager. Please devs. Some help here.

I want to have a graph log in dude about how many macs are registered in capsman.
I want to see graphically this: " /caps-man registration-table> print count-only"
Can anyone help me with an example?
I can't find the capsman oid's!

Thanks in advance.

Here need it too. CAPsMAN is a great feature but lacks of 802.11r or similar solution.
CAPsMAN+usermanager+ovpn+dhcp+server+hotspot are all-in-one machine great wifi controller that lacks "native" seamless roaming.

Bridged CAP's (2.4 and 5 GHz) worked like a charm!! I have added the caps to the bridge dinamically with its CAP options with same horizon and become automatically inactive when there is not trafffic.

About the Vlans... How can isolate the boadcast domain of each user if the AP's are local (CAPs)?

Ok. I've tried but have to add rules and rules to the filter as I add more interfaces. Ineficient.

I'm trying now with the horizon option in the bridged (CAP) interfaces. I'll tell you. Thanks

How do you would make it in local? Think in two wireless cards (2.4 and 5GHz) in the same rb. Clients can connect to one, the other, or the two at the same time. If I bridge that two interfaces, the clients can see each other. I wan some funcionality as disabling "default forward" for this...

Re: DDoS story, or WARNING: use 'conection-limit' with cauti

But your rules are blocking the tcp syn flood attacks to the router too if input chain is objective??? if you block forwarded traffic - you stop its propagation across the router. if you block input - traffic is already here, it won't go further, so you don't decrease network load :) that's why you ...
