Re: The big CCR2004 reboot thread (was 2004 hardware issues?)

ccr2004-2years-uptime.png This is running 6.48.6, and has no dynamic routing at all , all route entries are static. It is acting as a firewall & NAT device in front of some servers. We're lucky to see more than 60 days of uptime without a restart. It is in a climate controlled datacenter with s...

Pretty much what Tom said The outputs are diode-protected against "backfeed" on the positive side On the "negative/ground" side, depending on what kind of imballance you have from the "passive" injector's "ground" to the NP16's "ground", you can blo...

Re NetPower 16P 1'st - WARNING - --- The NetPower 16P 24-volt input and the 48-volt input ( both ) must have negative ground ( or no DC ground ) . You can not power the NetPower 16P 48-volt side using Telco neg 48 ( Telco neg 48 is 48-VDC positive ground - you will blow out your power supply and/or...

What will happen if I "accidentally" put Passive PoE (48-57V) into a netPower 16P?

See subject... I'm configuring a bunch of GPEN21s, and part of the config is that we set the "upstream" port (port 2) to "force on" for PoE output (instead of the default "auto on"). This is being done because in some cases, the GPENs are not supplying power to an upstr...

netPower 7R Lite (CSS610-1Gi-7R-2S+) - constant "Tx Deferred" errors after temporary duplex mismatch

I believe I've found a bug in SwOS, unless it's some strange underlying hardware problem with the switch chipset. I have a netPower 7R Lite (CSS610-1Gi-7R-2S+) that is powering a 60GHz radio on its Port8 / PoE out interface. The netPower 7R Lite is running SwOS 2.14, the latest available release. On...

Re: Filter or exclude certain log messages?

Having a conversation with myself, but...
I was able to filter out the items I want to ignore at the syslog level on the linux server (it's running rsyslogd).

But it would still be nice to have a way for the Mikrotik to simply not send those messages to the syslog server at all...

Filter or exclude certain log messages?

I don't believe this is possible, but I'm going to ask anyway... Is there a way to prevent certain log entries based on Message content from going through a specific log Action? I am exporting log entries to syslog on a LibreNMS server, and there are a few specific items we just don't care about... ...

Re: The big CCR2004 reboot thread (was 2004 hardware issues?)

I have a CCR2004 running 6.47.9 (LTS) and it has been up for over 138 days right now. It is not running any dynamic routing though - all static routes. It does have a fairly comprehensive firewall in place (33 filter rules with fasttrack enabled when possible, along with 14 NAT rules, and 85 total i...

Re: The Dude Server on CHR free license and 1Mbps limit

MikroTik support don't recommend running Dude on CHR at all. I know, crazy ain't it... Really? Their wiki entries about The Dude say that CHR is supported . Do you have any forum posts or emails from them saying CHR is bad for Dude Server? I have a 3-node Nutanix cluster with plenty of IOPS to spar...

The Dude Server on CHR free license and 1Mbps limit

Hello Mikrotik forum :) I am considering deploying The Dude to monitor a small fleet of routers (CCR-series) after being disappointed in other free solutions (e.g. LibreNMS does not poll error counters from RouterOS devices, at least not by default). We'd be looking at 17-20 routers monitored (CCR10...

Re: CCR1009 temperature sensor issue

Hate to drag up an old post, but I'm seeing this on various CCR1036s and CCR1072s as well. Various RouterOS versions (all "long-term" branch): 6.45.8 6.45.9 6.45.3 6.46.8 6.47.9 (this one is a CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+) 6.44.6 (I know that one is old and possibly insecure, not my position to updat...

Re: Routing Failover w/o Scripting example (Wiki) - tweaking a bit?

Can anyone explain to me what exactly the point of entering multiple addresses for the "gateway" in a route entry is? It doesn't seem like the router will load balance between those gateways by default... so why can you add more than one gateway for a given route? In what order does it eva...

Routing Failover w/o Scripting example (Wiki) - tweaking a bit?

https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Advanced_Routing_Failover_without_Scripting Talking about this article. My usage does not involve routing marks, because I have a PI /24 from ARIN. I'm accepting a default route from both ISPs, but I'm currently dropping/ignoring that and using static routes. I want to...

Re: Synology NAS behind router

Assuming you are using your MTK as the DNS server for the LAN, you could just add x.myds.me into the DNS server as a static entry, and point it at the internal IP of the Synology. Then you don't need to mess with NAT hairpin at all. The only "problem" with this is from your own LAN, you wo...

Re: Slow speeds when setting CRS125 ports to Gig

Is the switch doing anything else at the time?

What ports are you using on the CRS?

I ask because anything that goes up to Layer3 presumably involves the CPU, and the CPU only has a single 1gbps link back to the internal switch. Check the block diagram (PDF).

Re: trunks from mikrotik to switches

OK, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do there but it seems very wrong. Do you have multiple physical ports plugged from the switch into the router? What is the switch? Your best option is going to be to do a bond interface, and then run the VLANs on top of that. LACP mode (802.3ad) is &qu...

Re: RB450 bricked after RouterOS upgrading. Any solution Pls

I'm pretty sure the MTK hardware requires a null-modem cable -- if that is straight-serial then it won't work, and could explain why you see nothing.

Re: Slow speeds when setting CRS125 ports to Gig

Well, anything going between two VLANs is being routed rather than switched, unless there is something I'm missing... Is the CRS the default route between the two devices, or is traffic having to go somewhere else in order to route between those VLANs?

After "upgrade & install" reboot, VRRP interfaces missing

Subject says it all... I have a pair of CCRs doing BGP and using VRRP. I use Packages -> Upgrade & Install to upgrade one of the units, which automatically reboots it. When it comes back up, the VRRP interfaces are simply gone. Their IP addresses still exist (and are set to "unknown" i...
