Re: Filters for +500 prefixes

You can use a chain in common for all the upstreams, i.e. ACCEPT-OWN-PREFIXES and then in the 4 separate upstreams chains do a jump.

Re: Choose delivery method for 1Gbps clients

The user and password is the WAN MAC address of the client.
Is it never happened that a client cloned the MAC Address of another client?
If someone put your fiber into his own router and does a scan getting the mac addresses of the other clients he could set it on his own router.

Hi, for a future project I'm thinking what would be the best way to authenticate a lot of clients that can reach 1Gbps. The PPPoE is excluded because the clients can't have a CCR as CPE and I think that also the core CCRs can't handle dozens of PPPoE session with that bandwidth, probably the best wa...

Re: Logging only src on NAT traslations

So Mikrotik should tell us if the use the same external IP/port pair for two different internal IPs at the same time may occur.
In any case netflow is a complex solution, we use that only to monitor for statistic purpose, we would let the syslog machine stupid.

Re: Bring public IPs to PPPoE server through OSPF

Yes you can do that.

You assign the IPs on the PPPoE servers using secrets or radius, and then announce the /27 in ospf networks

As each client connects OSPF will announce the /32 which has been assigned.

Problem with minimum tx-power 6db on Netbox and Netmetal

Hi,
I can't set a tx-power lower than 6db on Netmetal and Netbox, so I can't use them with mANT 30 because in my country the EIRP limit is 1Watt.
Has anyone experienced the same problem ?

Re: RouterOS v6.28 released

The simple problem is TCP over NV2 in a PTMP environment is increasingly painful... In any case PTMP NV2 is not the most common config, especially with 802.11ac around. So on global scale significance of the fix vs. time to fix it simply doesn't cost the effort. So you might need to work around it....

I set the following MTU:
- PPPoE MTU MRU 1500
- VLAN interfaces MTU 1500
- EoIP interfaces MTU 1512 (calculated as 8 byte for pppoe and 4 bytes for vlan)

Are they correct?

For Inox: the host 174 is in the subnet, you can check in ipcalc.
For Nathan: I usually do Nat so I have only the default route.
Like you said rb2 receive the redirect icmp.
The purpose to have rb1 as gateway is the possibility to limit traffic of the rb1 with queue on rb1.

Hi, I'm testing freeradius + daloradius for pppoe but when I add to a profile the Mikrotik-Rate-Limit the pppoe doesn't connect.
When I remove the Mikrotik-Rate-Limit works.

NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

Hi, I've a nv2 ap with 3 client registered. The clients have a pppoe client set on cpe and one of them has a 30 megabit/s down profile. I done a bandwidth test and in the photo there's the result.
I don't know why tcp performance are so poor instead of udp.

Re: Best sector and dish antennas

I wanted to be sure that you speak about the vertical beam and not the horizontal, I also didn't want to compare the 16 and 19db version but the 19version of the 2 brand (ubnt, rfe). So could you advice me what is better for a urban high buildings environment? I thinked that the rfe 90° perhaps is ...

Re: Best sector and dish antennas

in my practice, the gain (dB) is not the only measurement of the antennas.
You know, the antenna is focusing the beam. If you have 2 antennas with 120deg on both, but different gains, the higher gain will have tighter beam.
If they are both 120° why you said that one can have tighter beam?

Re: Best sector and dish antennas

RFE's sector much worse than UBNT's. Not to mention Titanium.
my 2 cents.
The RF 120° is 3db less than ubnt so I might go with the the RF sector 90°, that is 18db gain but costs 40% less than the ubiquity 90° model, are the difference enough to justify the higher cost?

Best sector and dish antennas

Hello, I'm searching for the best price/quality ratio sector and dish antennas.
I look at the Ubiquity sector AirMax 5G19-120 and the Gold-wireless-goldsadd56028dp-5ghz-28dbi-dual-polarization
Are there any better products than them avaiable in europe?

I would check firewalls on both PCs: Windows Firewall blocks ICMP not from local subnet at least in WinXP, for example you can check with Tools -> Torch on both interfaces - I'm sure, there are packets received and transmitted :) The firewall are disabled on every device. I tried to reset conf a lot of time and I also changed version of routeros, i tried on 6.15 then downgrade to 6.12 and same problem, now I'm in 6.15.
What version in ros do you have?
You tried to access from a host of ether1 subnet to another host of ether3 or you tried directly from the router?
