The user and password is the WAN MAC address of the client.
Is it never happened that a client cloned the MAC Address of another client?
If someone put your fiber into his own router and does a scan getting the mac addresses of the other clients he could set it on his own router.

So Mikrotik should tell us if the use the same external IP/port pair for two different internal IPs at the same time may occur.
In any case netflow is a complex solution, we use that only to monitor for statistic purpose, we would let the syslog machine stupid.

Yes you can do that.

You assign the IPs on the PPPoE servers using secrets or radius, and then announce the /27 in ospf networks

As each client connects OSPF will announce the /32 which has been assigned.

The simple problem is TCP over NV2 in a PTMP environment is increasingly painful... In any case PTMP NV2 is not the most common config, especially with 802.11ac around. So on global scale significance of the fix vs. time to fix it simply doesn't cost the effort. So you might need to work around it....

I set the following MTU:
- PPPoE MTU MRU 1500
- VLAN interfaces MTU 1500
- EoIP interfaces MTU 1512 (calculated as 8 byte for pppoe and 4 bytes for vlan)

For Inox: the host 174 is in the subnet, you can check in ipcalc.
For Nathan: I usually do Nat so I have only the default route.
Like you said rb2 receive the redirect icmp.
The purpose to have rb1 as gateway is the possibility to limit traffic of the rb1 with queue on rb1.

Re: NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

Did you change pfifo queue size on all APs or only on the PPPoE concentrator? I wrote a thread about this issue: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=83477 In your experience, is PFIFO 50-100 better than SFQ? Thank you! I changed the queue-size only on concentrator because my aps don't...

Re: NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

Hi 'ibm' , is the PPPoE concentrator a Mikrotik? , if zo .. check out the queue type 'default-small' .. that's the one MT PPPoE concentrators use. Unfortunately, the Queue size is 10 as default, which is fine for a couple of Mbits, but not for 8+Mbits Change it to 50 or 100, your problems will be o...

Re: NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

The CPU on most routerboards isn't fast enough for TCP testing. Use a normal PC behind the device at test.
I put in download many file on a pc connected to the cpe but I reach max 15 megabit/s instead of 30.

Re: NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

For bandwidth testing use only devices connected behind the tested link. Do not use btest on devices you are actually testing.
I used the pppoe server RB (rb951) for test the cpe.

NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

Oh I just take a lo ok at the cpu and is at 100% during test. Why?
I have 2 load balanced 100/10 connection and locally I've no problem to reach high speed.
Maybe the pppoe encapsulation?

NV2 link with a very different speed in TCP and UDP

Hi, I've a nv2 ap with 3 client registered. The clients have a pppoe client set on cpe and one of them has a 30 megabit/s down profile. I done a bandwidth test and in the photo there's the result.
I don't know why tcp performance are so poor instead of udp.

Re: Best sector and dish antennas

in my practice, the gain (dB) is not the only measurement of the antennas.
You know, the antenna is focusing the beam. If you have 2 antennas with 120deg on both, but different gains, the higher gain will have tighter beam.
If they are both 120° why you said that one can have tighter beam?

Re: Best sector and dish antennas

RFE's sector much worse than UBNT's. Not to mention Titanium.
my 2 cents.
The RF 120° is 3db less than ubnt so I might go with the the RF sector 90°, that is 18db gain but costs 40% less than the ubiquity 90° model, are the difference enough to justify the higher cost?

Best sector and dish antennas

Hello, I'm searching for the best price/quality ratio sector and dish antennas.
I look at the Ubiquity sector AirMax 5G19-120 and the Gold-wireless-goldsadd56028dp-5ghz-28dbi-dual-polarization
Are there any better products than them avaiable in europe?
