Script permissions

I have tool netwatch configured to run some script, which consists of the only command to send email: name="dlap1-down" owner="kostik" policy=read, write, policy, test, sensitive dont-require-permissions=no run-count=0 source=/tool e-mail send subject="dlap1 down" to=kostik...

Re: v6.39 [current]

On CRS125, console spits the following:
loading kernel... OK
setting up elf image... OK
jumping to kernel code
Starting...
chmod: /flash/rw/run/netns: No such file or directory
Starting services...
Is this something to worry about ?

Re: v6.37 [current] is released!

I got the following error on CRS125, trying to update from 6.36.3: [kostik@switch1] > system package update check-for-updates error - contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (10) Any idea ? Or should I mail support ? Connectivity to upgrade.mikrotik.com works, accessing http://upgrade.mikrot...

dhcp port isolations + VLANs

Wiki explains ports isolation setup for preventing rogue dhcp server.  It is done in terms of ports. Now, suppose that CRS access ports are split between several VLANs, one (or several) ports are trunks to upstream, and DHCP servers for each VLANs are connected through the trunk.  Would the same set...

hap lite perf results

On the http://routerboard.com/RB941-2nD-TC page it is claimed that the hap lite device provides ~400M routing capability on all four ports. I could suppose that it was actually for the switching mode (bridging), but second line in the performance results table claims that the same performance is ach...

Re: Manual Improvements

In the typical setup of the SOHO, it is often the case that ability to access the Internet depends on the (misconfigured) device. E.g. my home network uses CRS125 to transport provider' vlan to router, so a mistake means that I cannot access the manual until I figure out and fix what was broken. It ...

Re: RouterOS v6.28 released

What is the expected delay with the propagation of the update to the automatic update severs ?
[kostik@switch1] > system package update check-for-updates
  current-version: 6.27
   latest-version: 6.27
status: System is already up to date

Re: What happen with 6.21 ?

Trying to move the thread to something more constructive.

Does anybody have a reference or a description of the bug ?
What is affected ? Is it safe to try to downgrade ?

What happen with 6.21 ?

What did happen with RouterOS 6.21 ? It appeared on the web site, and later, it seems to be revoked. Since it was revoked, there must be a serious issue affecting real-world installations. Why there is no urgent and timely mail with the description of the situation and recommendation of what to do ?...

CRS125 nand write rate

What is the expected write rate to the built-in nand disk on the CRS125 ? On my system, which serves as a switch, with no configuration changes, ROS 6.14, I see: uptime: 2d10h6m1s write-sect-since-reboot: 5549 uptime: 3d4m23s write-sect-since-reboot: 6939 In other words, it is ~80 writes per hour. I...

Re: VLANs on CRS125 (yet another whine)

Apparently, at least 6.13 and 6.14rc25 have bug which prevents vlans from working correctly on the other ports groups. It was answered by the support.

No idea about ETA for a fix.

Re: VLANs on CRS125 (yet another whine)

I already found the knob interface ethernet switch port set ether17 egress-vlan-mode=unmodified , also I did the interface ethernet switch egress-vlan-translation add ports=ether17 customer-vid=1 new-customer-vid=0 from the beginning, but both spells do nothing (for me). I also found that if I use n...

VLANs on CRS125 (yet another whine)

So I am another victim of this 'nice' switch. All I want is very simple configuration for now, have two ports in single broadcast domain, one port working as untagged, another as tagged for the single vlan. For procurve, it took approx. 5 minutes to figure out the config, with RouterOS 6.13 I cannot...
