I'm also wondering that. Right now I use cake in simple queue attached to interface ether1 (WAN) and still using PCQ in queue tree HTB with packet mangles. Would it be better to migrate to fq_codel or cake in queue tree as well?

I upgraded hap AC2 (128/16) few days ago from latest v6 by using netinstall and then used .backup file, all went well. Its been up and running w/o an issue.

I'm using cake with dscp marks given, also wireguard vpn.. its been up and running. both are excellent.

How to add public static IP to WAN?

Hello, I'm a customer of a WISP in my local area. My Mikrotik routerboard is connected to their Mikrotik SXT CPE on my roof. I'm seeing that their CPE is acting like a router (in case their customers don't have routers and wanted to connect an AP), and it assigns my WAN (ether1) port some private ad...

Re: Can't seem to catch FIN/SYN/RST in mangle [SOLVED]

OK, it seems like routeros checks if all of the tcp-flags you put matches in a packet (like "and" logic). Therefore, not a single packet contains both syn, fin, rst at the same time and result is a no catch.
I seperated each and single tcp-flags in seperate mangle rules and it is fine now.

Re: RouterOS v7.0 beta1 - when?

as of feb 2017, cake took place of fq_codel now. as in the description of cake, it looks like PCQ to me (equal bandwidth in src, dst address).

There is piece_of_cake for trees I guess... I wonder what are the differences between HTB that we use in routeros.

3G dongles are very picky for location. You should try every possible location preferably higher. It is good if you have USB extension cord, that you can move it around freely and your router stays still.
