Re: Migrate from RB 450g to RB 1100ah

Go to the log and check if it stopped importing because a line failed due to hardware differences. You'll have to fix the line and reset the unit and start all over again. There might be many fault lines but keep fixing them until the scripts ends with success. I believe there might be a better way ...

Re: Cannot get VPN working

Does your Mkt get a public IP from the cisco modem? Othewise L2TP/IPsec server doesn't work behind a NAT. Clients can be behind a NAT but not the server.

Re: Simple Queue for 2 subnet

If you simply give higher priority to one of the targets you can end up with your 192.168.81.0/24 using all your bandwidth leaving your other subnet without any. The way I would prioritize is by defining 2 simple queues one for each target subnet. Allow max-limit 10M/20M on both queues so both subne...

Re: IP Cloud

I was under the impression that IP Cloud was just a dynamic DNS built into Mkt devices. Shouldn't the source address of the connection be the device IP?

Re: GRE tunnel

Aren't you missing a default (0.0.0.0/0) gateway in the routes for R2?

Re: SSID Problem

It shouldn't work since it's outside the standard but considering that there are other users connected I would suggest instead of typing the SSID go to the scan list on the wireless interface. Search for the ssid and click connect. Let's see if the mkt does some sort of truncate and allows you to co...

Re: An Official Winbox for Macs

As a mac user that would be great, but let's face it, I don't think that is a priority for Mikrotik right now. However you don't have to keep running your mac without GateKeeper activated. You can authorize individual apps to be run without been signed by the developer. While holding the Alt key rig...

cAP 2n not making any sound

Does anybody know if this board has a buzzer like the rest of them? I made sure that Silent Boot wasn't turned on. I've tried upgrading the unit to 6.24 with no backup and no defaults, upgrading the Routerboard firmware but it was already on latest one. Did NetInstall and had no success with any of ...

Re: Bandwidth management per IP / MAC & Torrent sites block

You can do detailed firewall on bridge but it is very resource consuming. Do it on the router as it will be more efficient. Use bridge firewall only when it should restrict traffic between bridge members. Are you sure about that? From the specs sheet from routerboard.com on the RB951G-2HnD seems to...

Re: RB2011 factory reset

From my experience using WINBOX on a Macintosh I've found that when I need to connect with a factory-reset unit is best to put my computer IP config using DHCP. Obviously it can't find any and it will autoassign an IP address in the form of X.X.X.X 255.0.0.0 . With this address set I can connect wit...
