Working with EPON Sticks

I have a FTEN2115P1CUN-BC module and stick it into a hAP ac. The module was recognized, there were temperature, wavelength, negotiation, link state, etc readings, but can never receive anything, with or without auto-negotiation off. The ISP side requires only MAC-Address for authentication, so I've ...

Enslave a WiFi interface?

Hi, I have received a 962UiGS-5HacT2HnT and fairly happy with it. I'm using a PPPoE WAN with NAT settings, along with 70+ firewall rules and ~700 address lists. With master/slave configuration on wired LAN side, I can reach ISP promised bandwidth at ~ 260Mbps, but with Bridge mode, CPU hits 100% at ...

Re: RB450G slowly degrading

Is the cpu maxed? What profile says during the capping traffic? Aren't you a part of dns amplification attack? Have you tried fasttrack? Yes, CPU is maxed at 800Mhz, firewall uses most of CPU at 40%, and I'm using fast-track no significant improvements. As for amplication attacks, no, I'm not openi...

RB450G slowly degrading

I got an RB450G about a year ago, in last few month I've seen a huge decline in performance, though countermeasures were deployed but now still not able get full bandwidth. Without changes on configuration, with(-out) upgrading to release/rc version firmware. I was able to get 250Mbps+ back in June,...

Re: Cloud Hosted Router

I tried to upload the raw image to Google Compute Engine, it started but neither does ssh nor winbox working.
Do I need additional steps to make it work with those vps providers?

[SNMP] Received all zero Timeticks on ifLastChange

Hi, I'm a very confused from what I got from SNMP, which was supposed to be a non-zero positive value from ifLastChange, but they are all zeros. How should I fix this? Thanks! $ snmpwalk -Os -c internal -v 2c 192.168.88.1 ifLastChange ifLastChange.1 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00 ifLastChange.2 = Timet...

Re: Routing traffic to a remote server over pptp

Any thoughts? Thanks! I think you also need to add a /32 route for the ping target to the 'ladder' routing table so the pings will have a way to reach the ping target. I think that's why the 'ladder' default GW route isn't going active. I tried this but it doesn't work. As for the remote party's ro...

Routing traffic to a remote server over pptp

Hi, I'm trying to route some of my traffic to a remote server in remote network, but it doesn't work properly. The Situation: A server with IP address 10.111.79.10 can be accessed from PPTP network 10.0.28.x/24(remote peer), the mikrotik router dials PPTP and gets an address 10.2.y.z/24(local peer)....

Re: Load Balancing

We typically use PCC as the others can sometimes have issues depending on what you are doing. You can certainly send certain traffic out a certain connection with policy routing.
But port forwarding with PCC is also very tricky, and sometimes doesn't work at all.

Yet Another PCC/DST-NAT Problem

Issue: Port forwarding with not working. Setup: 4x PPPoE client VRRP'd to ISP, I have four public IPs, and willing to use each of them for separate purposes, they are all _Dynamic_.
