Re: L2MTU On Smaller RB devices

No, not possible. You will need to choose hardware that supports 9k byte frames. Right, my question is, why is Mikrotik utilizing chipsets or whatever the limitation is that does not support 9K even in newer hardware like the 3011 and, is there a strategy where future releases do not have this sort...

L2MTU On Smaller RB devices

Is there any plan to increase the L2MTU on the smaller rack mount RBs such as the 2011 or 3011? We use the 3011 ( formerly the 2011 ) a lot as MPLS/L2 demarcation devices at customer prems, and just ran into a request where a customer needs 9K and the 3011 is limited to 8156 it seems. Is there any p...

Potential VPLS/MPLS issue

We may have found some regression between 6.36.4 and 6.37.1+ when running OSPF/LDP/VPLS between a CCR1009 and Juniper MX series router. What we see when running 6.37.1+ ( tested all 6.37 and 6.38 releases )- - Some MAC addresses have their traffic dropped on the floor, traffic coming back from the J...

VLAN Trunking / CRS

Hello, First off, if STP has been added on the CRS you can disregard anything below and just say that ;) Topology; Ports 1-23, need to be access vlan 1302 and tagged vlan 2. Currently they are all access 1302 in a bridge because STP doesn't exist on the CRS so we can't use the switch chip ( loops BA...

RB2011 NAT + SFP / Switch1

We had something weird happen on two RB2011s. Setup: - WAN Uplink - Fiber - SFP1 / Switch1 - Customer Handoff - Copper - Ether1 / Switch1 If we enable NAT of any kind on the customer handoff the 2011 goes incredibly sluggish or reboots. If we move the customer handoff to ether6 / Switch2 the problem...

Re: Is there something wrong with ccr1009-8g-1s-1s+ ?

It definitely seems to be a QA issue because we have dozens in service with no issues but then we hit a block of three in a row that failed like this then back to another string of no failures...

Re: Is there something wrong with ccr1009-8g-1s-1s+ ?

We've now had two die on us after only a few days of running.... No lights, no console, no fans, nothing.

Does anyone know the fix for these? I love the box but if they're going to die a week after being turned on..... that makes me nervous.

Re: How many VRF instance supported by CCR Routers

We have many CCRs as PE routers in a VPLS mesh. I don't know if there is a documented limit but I'm sure it's in the - or greater - range of XX,XXX. As far as performance goes, we've had zero complaints or speed issues for MPLS services on the CCRs. One CCR1009 we have is passing >1Gbps of MPLS traf...

Is it just me or does availability of CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ in-stock seem to be drying up for anyone else? I'm having a heck of a time acquiring more.

Yea this issue is cleared temporarily by a reboot but as Normis says, 6.16 will cure it so I'm happy. :)

Re: Poor routing performance on CCR

Part of this is probably also the fact that it isn't forwarding these packets but rather having to dump them, and that can be costly since there is no fastpath entry etc for them so you're processing 600kpps in software essentially.

It is, a reboot will restore it in the short term, 6.16 will fix it in the long term.

Re: help to add a second ISP

As far as I'm aware there's no way to do any sort of effective load balancing over separate ISPs because a single stream needs to exist on one connection. The only way I've seen this effectively work is over tunnels across both ISPs to a router elsewhere and then to the Internet on a larger connecti...

Re: VLAN - Dumb question

- create a VLAN "A" applied on ether2 - add an ip address on ether2 In this example there would be no IP address on the VLAN that would respond for VLAN tagged packets. The IP would respond for untagged traffic on ether2. - create a VLAN "A" applied on ether2 - add an ip address...

Large route table, removing a static [SOLVED]

Perhaps this has been answered before, I tried searching for it but so far I've come up empty.

I have a CCR with ~2.5 million routes ( BGP, OSPF etc. ) it also has a handful of static routes.... how can I modify a static route? The ID value is constantly changing with BGP etc.

Thanks,

Roger that, we'll attempt to pass traffic over it, if that works I'll report back here advising that this is normal behavior in Cisco<->Mikrotik MPLS operation.

MPLS IPV4/Pseudowire ping response

- Does RouterOS response appropriately to the `ping mpls pseudowire` or `ping mpls ipv4` commands from a Cisco? Re: Need to make 1 router work like 2, is this possible?

The way I've always done this is use an empty bridge interface to "hold" the static IP assignments like a loopback interface on cisco/juniper and then setup your dst-nat from there, you can also then at that point setup masquerading on those IPs for outbound if you wanted as well.

RB1100AHx2 Switch1 MTU issue

I have a RB2011AHx2 ( 6.15/3.10 ) and whenever the MTU is changed on any interface belonging to Switch1 all ports drop link. Scenario: -ether10 is the only port in service and is on switch1 -I change the MTU on that port, it drops and I have to wait for safe mode to recover. -I change the MTU on _an...
