Having a similar issue on my CCR and it only works after a reboot for a while.

Probably something in the following range: 129.205. 144.0/24

They are changed around so can't give you a 100% on the last digit.

Have had the same issue, doesn't matter on cable length. 1m or 20m, it'll all fail eventually.

Not limited to the 951 as well. RB3011s and RB2011s have failed as well.

Hell, I came looking if others had the issue because my RB2011 decided it can't power my cap lite (166ma 20m cat6) anymore.

Looks like a signal strength issue as well as noise issue.

I have a 18km Dynadish -> 22dB Netbox sector on just 20mhz/NV2 that performs better.

Signal strength is RX/TX -55/-52 dBm for me. CCQ is both sides in 70s.

Yep, move the Level 4 SXT to the AP side of the link and let the 2 level 3 SXT's connect back to it.

I'm guessing the level 4 SXT is actually the sectoral one which has a beamwidth of 90 degrees, so just point somewhere in between the 2 SXTs.

Should be easy to switch from either of the 3 protocols and do a few tests to see which perform the best for your situation.

To really be more spectral efficient, 802.11ac gear has to work in a lower-noise-level environment compared to 802.11n. You can either try to find a cleaner channel or invest in higher gain antennas to achieve higher SNR. Here is similar discussion > https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&...

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

You have default-forwarding=no on your slave, change it to yes.
And why is your hotspot on the slave ?
Forgot to remove those. it's from our default setup.

New export:
slave.rsc
Should I remove DHCP CLient as well?

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

Working with the dynamic mesh didn't work so well, I will try it again if this solution doesn't pan out because it's exactly what we need: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=59891 which is exactly what I want, I got it as far as getting both devices connecting, dhcp handled my the ap-...

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

You can not use quickset, as I writed before, on the master IP, DHCP server, hotspot, etc. all must point to bri-hs, not on wlan1 Did not use quickset, just showing that they both connected. Unfortunately I have to work with our current config. I changed DHCP server and hotspot to "bridge1&quo...

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

Simply configure both AP ap-bridge and enable on both WDS dynamic-mesh on same bridge of wlan1 Obviously same channel, same SSID, etc. Set the protocol to 802.11 On wifi property set bridge-mode to DISABLED and when you create the bridge, remember to set the STP protocol mode to rstp Should the bri...

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

Looks like a typo. But that is not mandatory. You can leave the wds-mode on the AP as dynamic. How I have it currently: AP: wlan1: ap bridge, wds dynamic, wds bridge1 bridge1: bridges wds1 and wlan1 wds1: wlan1 master, wds address is slave's mac address *not sure if it should be same or different m...

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

Didn't read the .pdf files in detail, but yes this is the correct way. Try, it should work. And if you stumble somewhere post your progress and we'll see what more is needed. which ones? currently i have the AP setup from the first guide and the wds-slave from the second guide. The slave is in anot...

Re: Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

Setup the first groove as ap-bridge, enable wds. Setup the 2nd groove as wds-slave. Not quite sure how to do that. Does this guide ( http://www.miro.co.za/downloads/How-Do-I-Set-Up-WDS-Using-MikroTik.pdf ) show the correct way to setup the ap-bridge? If it is, it doesn't show how to setup the wds-s...

Connecting 2 RB/Grooves with WDS

Hi, I have the following issue: We deploy public wifi at various locations, but some require that we use 2 RBs to cover the distance (issue with the connecting device obviously). Is it possible to connect 2 together with WDS and log-ins being handled from the main AP and how would one do this? Or if...

Hotspot users

Hi Was wondering if there was a way to dynamically create hotspot users, preferably using their own mac address? As it is now, all users use the same user called "user". All I could find was this: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=28990 Thanks Edit: To be more specific, it'...

Re: How to optimise for phones and laptops

I figured that would be the issue. As a laptop down the street, ~500m could see the signal but no chance in that happening to a phone.

Is there any other set up tips you can give me, like is 20 or 20/40 better, best Mhz for signal, etc?

How to optimise for phones and laptops

Hi, we just recently started using mikrotik routers for public hotspots, we currently use the 951, Basebox2 and just started testing with the GrooveA. Since, I'm relatively new to wireless systems other than the basic home stuff, is there a way I can optimise either of those routers for smaller devi...
