Re: Setting up NV2 QOS - VoIP over wireless links

I changed the mangle rules and NV2 settings to the settings below. These are the only parameters that I've set. Anyone who's had success with NV2 QoS, please let me know if you would do anything differently or if I've left anything out. Thank you. /ip firewall mangle add action=set-priority chain=ou...

Re: Setting up NV2 QOS - VoIP over wireless links

[*] I found examples that showed classifying UDP, TCP, and ICMP. When you say to classify all types of traffic, should I classify those three, plus add a classification for DSCP? The mangle rule that I currently have for DSCP is: add action=set-priority chain=postrouting comment="From dscp high...

Setting up NV2 QOS - VoIP over wireless links

I need to set up QoS on NV2 wireless to prioritize VoIP traffic. We have DSCP enabled on the network. I set the NV2 queue count to 8, and QoS to Frame Priority. In a older post, someone recommended the following Mangle rules for the AP. I am not sure how these settings alone would enable NV2 QoS to ...

Re: Unable to update firmware on R11e-LTE-US modem

I tried it again and ran: /interface/lte/firmware-upgrade lte1 upgrade=yes I waited about 10 minutes and got status: failed. As soon as it started downloading, the LTE interface unregistered. I looked at the Traffic tab and saw that there was no TX/RX traffic at all. It looks like the upgrade is fai...

Unable to update firmware on R11e-LTE-US modem

I saw that there is a firmware update available for my R11e-LTE-US modem. However, when I try to update the firmware on the modem, the cellular connection drops and it will not reconnect until I disable and re-enable the modem. The firmware update instructions say that updating over-the-air is the o...

R11e-LTE-US - Way to set LTE band?

On the R11e-LTE-US modem, is there a way to set the LTE band that it uses or a way to set an order of priority for the bands? I tried entering /interface lte set lte1 band=x but no matter what I enter for the band, it says "input does not match any value of band." I am using AT&T 4G LT...

Availability of RB433 or other Mini PCI boards? Alternative for 900 MHz radios?

MikroTik hasn't had any boards with Mini PCI slots listed on the Hardware section of MikroTik.com for quite some time. We use the Ubiquiti XR9 radio cards on Routerboards for NLOS wireless, and they are Mini PCI. We used mostly the RB433 and RB411 series. Has MikroTik completely discontinued Mini PC...

Superchannel on ac radios?

I've been unable to enable Superchannel on any MikroTik ac radios that we've purchased. My organization is permitted to use 4.9 GHz, and I am trying to set a NetMetal 921UAGS-5SHPacD to 4.9 GHz. I've upgraded the license key to support extra channels, and it shows the "Extra-channels" feat...

Re: Backhaul speeds - N only / AC only or mixed mode

Yes. It is our infrastructure. I wasn't sure if mixed mode would slow the network if there are no legacy clients. We now have more incoming bandwidth at some of our sites, so I am refining our backhauls to make better use of the bandwidth. I am going to convert some links to Greenfield mode to see h...

Backhaul speeds - N only / AC only or mixed mode

I am trying to maximize available speed on some backhauls. I've always set the band mode for backward compatibility even if all the radios on the link support the newest standard. For example, if all radios support 802.11N, I choose b/g/n. Is there any advantage to choosing N only or even AC only if...

Bridges getting deleted

I've had several routers on which the bridges have gotten deleted somehow. Each time, the router had a bridge with Ethernet and WLAN ports on it. Users would report loss of connectivity, and when I logged into the router, the bridge was gone. The ports showed to be configured for a nonexistent bridg...

Re: Winbox vulnerability: please upgrade

Hi Normis,

what you wrote above may look for someone that 6.40.8 (bugfix) is not secure too. I would like you mention that this bugfix release is secure too (blog needs correction too but it mention that 6.40.8 is OK at least).
So, is 6.40.8 secured against this vulnerability or is it not?

Re: Signal strength fluctuating with NV2: 900 Mhz, 20 Mhz. channel width

If you experience an interference issue with nv2 every few minutes, then I suspect you would be experiencing interference issues with 802.11 also. Things I would consider: - Run a frequency usage for several minutes - Are there other APs near-by ( any band ). - On every device, interface - Reset ma...

Re: Sierra Wireless MC7750 on Verizon Wireless

I tried the Sierra Wireless MC7750 on RouterOS 6.40.3 and 6.41rc32. It works on both of these RouterOS versions, but it connects at a slower rate than the Quectel EC21-V. RouterOS shows a connect speed of 3100000 with the Sierra Wireless, and 150000000 for the Quectel. I ran speed tests at testmy.ne...

Signal strength fluctuating with NV2: 900 Mhz, 20 Mhz. channel width

On some of our 900 MHz. point-to multipoint links, the signal strength and SNR intermittently become poor when using NV2. We're using Ubiquiti XR9 radios. The problem usually lasts a minute or so, then goes away for a few minutes, then returns for a minute or so. If we use 802.11 on these same links...

I'm having this same problem on some of our radios with virtual APs. It seems that Having KeepAlive frames is disabled by default when I create virtual APs. We never got it to work. I contacted MikroTik support via e-mail and sent them a supout, and they replied back and said that this looks like a compatibility issue with the modem's firmware. I'm testing a couple of different modems now - a Quectel EC25-V and an EC21-V. So far, the EC25-V isn't workin...

Re: Sierra Wireless MC7750 on Verizon Wireless

I upgraded the MC card firmware version and tried again. MikroTik recommended firmware 3.5.23.2 for the MC7700, but the newest firmware that I could find for the MC7750 was 3.5.10.13, so I upgraded to 3.5.10.13. It still doesn't show up as an LTE device. I haven't figured out how to determine whethe...
