Refuse port or mac from obtaining an ip with dhcp.

Situation : A device is configured to get its ip over a vlan that comes from the internet. The modem has a port that makes this happen for the devices connected to it. Problem : Even with vlan tagging the device get its ip from the dhcp first thus not getting in the vlan and not working as intended....

Wrong dns...

I have devices that take the gateway as dns.
How do I stop them from doing so.

Is there a setting in routeros that causes this?

Re: Port/Interface routing.

I don't see how to add an interface directly as source. I made a pptp interface wich is connected to a vpn service and I need : ether8-slave-local To use it. Only that interface regardless of ip adress it has. Whatever cable gets plugged in that port should use the vpn. It works if I use ip adresses...

Port/Interface routing.

After 2 days it's almost hammer time. How do I route a port/interface somewhere. Source is not an ip or mac. Just any device regardless of ip plugged in that specific port will be routed over the vpn. Don't mind the vpn part just want to know how to route ports/interfaces. This afternoon the samba s...

Internal ip = external ip?

I have a mikrotik for a while now and replaced 2 older switches with mikrotiks now. However : My older main switch sits directly behind the modem. It's "internet" ip = it's "lan ip" and this works just well. With the new boxes setting the lan ip = local ip i lose everything. It only works if they ha...

Re: Feature requests

- All openvpn features. - Auto dns lookup when non ip value is entered. Would be very handy to have router os to accept domain names for more features. - Make adressess list true lists that can hold all kind of unique ip adresses or even hostnames in a list. Not just ranges. ^- and/or make it possib...

Re: Disabling proxy server = unable to access webfig.

The proxy is not forced upon clients. Clients can simple access the web without the proxy. Basicly everything seem to work just as normal when the proxy is disabled except the webfig. I removed a redirect on the nat. It is accessible now while the proxy is disabled. Not sure why it only affected the...

Disabling proxy server = unable to access webfig.

I'm playing around with the proxy it seemed to work fine. Access control however did not seem to do anything at all. So I tought lets disable the proxy. As soon as i did webfig went. Even when not using the proxy webfig was unreachable. I can still reach the mikrotik through the winbox but not anymo...

Losing login.

I just installed a mikrotik cloud switch and have 1 mayor problem this far. When toying around : Set the switch in the lan subnet. Testing ppoe I lose connection with the webgui. As in it's just not accessible anymore. Even factory reset with/without being connected to the routers dhcp, with the cli...
