Re: HotSpot and PPPoE

Thats what I was figuring. I have made it work with the HotSpot and the PPPoE server on the same interface but not different.
I know that the HotSpot and PPPoE server can use the same DHCP. So here is another question, Can I make a MikroTik PPPoE server use an address pool from another server?

NotSpot and PPPoE

Is it possible to setup a MikroTik router to be a HotSpot but allow PPPoE traffic to pass through transparently? I have a centralized PPPoE server and need the HotSpot to allow all PPPoE traffic to bridge to it. I have been trying to get this to work for several days now with no luck.

Recommendations for Nstreme2 Link

I am wanting to install a new backhaul link. I need to go 6.5k with as much throughput as I can get (20Mb is acceptable). I was wanting to use a RB532A on each end with a pair of SR5 cards. I want to use a PacificWireless 2 foot 29dbi solid dual polarity dish since tower space is limited. Will these...

BGP MultiHop Problem

I have a MikroTik v2.9.42 router running eBGP with my provider (AT&T). Because of the interface limitations I had to put a Cisco in between and use multi hop. <MikroTik>---<Cisco>----<Provider>. For some reason the remote address the provider had me use is not the remote IP of their router I am conn...

I have done this and it does not log any BGP events. Is there something that I am missing?

It seems to be at pretty regular intervals. I think that it resets everytime it reaches the hold-timer but have nothing to support this theory.

Logging BGP Flap

I am using a Mikrotik v2.9.37 router and doing BGP with an AT&T peer. The continually loses the BGP connection with the peer and then resets itself. This causes the router to lose all of its routes and then reload them. I have the keepalive-timer = 60 and the hold-timer = 240. How do I turn on loggi...

Advanced DHCP Config

I currently use the ISC DHCP server but want to switch to RouterOS. I use the dhcpd.conf file to specify host names and DNS registration for clients. Is there a way to access this file in the RouterOS system? Does RouterOS use a similar file for DHCP adn if so can I access it? Can I setup a script t...
