Winbox on Wine works fine but is indeed a 32bit app.
I noticed that some guys @MT also use MacOS, so lets hope they will compile a 64bit version just because they need that for themselves ..

running that much cpu on console tasks is weird. That is why I asked for a config. If you run a /export hide-sensitive all password will be hidden. please mention Router type,
Firewall packages are handled by the CPU, so on slower CPU models you might not get wire speed on your firewalled connection.

as an hAP AC will max at about 600MBit thruput over the cpu, it totatlly depends on what your clients are using ...
IF they all use 10MBit streaming, you will be able to handle 60 users without problems
IF your clients use less concurrent bandwidth, you can handle more users ..

If you use CAPSMAN and do NOT use local-forwarding, ALL traffic will need to be encrypted over a tunnel from the AP to the CAP. This wil hav huge impact on performance !!! Hmm, my site-to-site tunnels where converted correcty, but my roadwarrior PSK does not work anymore ...

I noticed this behavior too ... MT devices (like my RB962's) do not transmit a country code. But, not all do Some DO, like FritzBox from AVM, Some Samsung device, Some Arcadyan device, Some Ziggo devices (transmit EU) Some DON'T, Like MT, ZTE devices, Belkin devices, TP-Link devices, Sitecom devices...

Too bad to read only negative experiances here. I run dude 6.43.8 on CHR in VM . It does what it has to do, runs for a couple of years now, updated with every release. Sometimes a manual vacuumdb is neccesary to get snmp counters running after an update. No further problems seen here, great function...

as the wifi interface is NOT on the same switch-chip as the eth ports, wifi will never have hardware-accelleration.
wifi will allways pass thru the cpu and is limited by the cpu performance

it must have been exploited before the upgrades.
upgrading does not remove the exploits, it just fixes the holes.
IF your device is exploited, the only thing you can do is netinstall

You might want to try to put just the routeros package on the dude.
the wireless packages is included in the Main package

the script pointed to a u113.rsc that was in /file and an 113.sh schedule and an udp111 schedule that also seems removed....

the real "bad" stuff happens inside that scripts ...

do a netinstall on that device with all user passwords changed and double check your input rules

FWIW

I updated Dude with every release, running 6.43.2 now.
Dude runs on a CHR vm over here.
Running for more than a year without problems.
Creating daily backups but never needed to restore

coming from 6.35 the easiest way to me seems to update to 6.40.8 in the bugfix channel.
Depending on the complexity of your config 6.40.8 still has the old master-port while 6.41+ has the new bridge implementation.
If updating to 6.40.8 went fine you might try 6.42.1 ...

There is NO 6.42
Only 6.42rc [release candidate]
RC are BETA versions that can be used to TEST certain new (or fixed) features.
BETA software should not be run on critical devices, just on test networks.

Eddie Please provide support output file to suport@mikrotik.com so we could compare that configuration to see why it would not work in v6.40.6 I will create them in a couple of hours, the hAP AC are manged by CAPSMAN in my 2011, do you need the supout from the hAP AC, the 2011 or both...

Hmm, problem. I upgraded my 3 hAP AC from 6.39.3 to 6.40.6 .. All seemed OK but the office W10 laptop refused to connect to the wifi ... To bad there is no useable logging, the MT logging just says station leaving and the W10 logging says "unable to connect" ... I donwgraded to 6.39.3 and now the W1...

hmm,

running capsman with 3x hAP AC here without problems, almost only Apple devices here ...
At our computer club meeting (4 times a year) I run 5x hAP AC to handle about 300 iOS devices in a community center, no problems
Great devices, you just need to know how to configure them !

Hi, we are connecting some CRS-125 configured as switches to an CISCO switch. both switches should NOT see each other switch net works ... edge-edge connection ... But, we are not able to stop switch packets on the connection, the Cisco keeps shutting the port as bpdu-guard kicks in. What setting do...
