Re: wAP ac serious problem! maybe a bug?

I've had several fail on me. I think we're up to 4 failures out of 10 we've bought. Once they start having problems, the ones we had started getting incredibly hot. Even the id sticker started changing color (no idea on that one...) Won't be buying anymore wAP ACs. We've replaced 2 of them with cAP ...

Re: hardware idea for a multiport switch

Interesting idea, but I totally agree about the cable management nightmare. Something like that could possibly work mounted in the ceiling of a rack cabinet. If you keep the idea rack mounted, I'd still keep the ports on the front and/or back, and maybe put a high-speed interconnect on the top and b...

Re: PCC (Dual WAN) not working on hAPAC2 [SOLVED]

Enable passthrough on the first 4 rules.
That tells the table to keep working on that packet. With passthrough=no, you are telling the firewall to tag the packet then stop worrying about it.
For PCC to work, it needs to tag the packet and keep processing it.

Re: v6.44beta [testing] is released!

I previously had 6.44 b(~6 or 8, can't recall) and it didn't warn about either l2tp/ipsec psk nor ipsec certificates. I'm fairly certain it's a recent addition to the testing channel only. Test on the current/stable channel I was also trying to do that without success. Sent from my XT1580 using Tapa...

Re: Best Way to Isolate Untrusted Device on My Home Network?

Edit @ 10/12/18 - 12:40am EDT This might be getting outside the area of Mikrotik's forum, but after looking at the product I think the security worries might be on the paranoid-ish side. Since the device is probably behind Mikrotik's default firewall and uses a VPN, the only ports truly open to the ...

Re: v6.44beta [testing] is released!

I think I'm running into a config bug in 6.44 Beta 20 I've upgraded my testing router and saw the L2TP/IPSec unsafe config notice. So I was playing around with configs to fix that. Once the L2TP peer is initially added, any attempt to edit the peer config errors out with "Couldn't change IPSec ...

Re: Best Way to Isolate Untrusted Device on My Home Network?

Hey fellow ham, KW4KF here. First off, what device are you trying to connect? Might help me determine the ports needed. The easier way to handle this is first get it working on the new network, then worry about security. Create a new bridge on the main bridge tab. On the ports tab, find the port the...

Private /ip cloud server

Would there be a chance Mikrotik could release a package for RouterOS or even a standalone server where companies could run their own private /ip cloud server instead of having to use the official Mikrotik one? My main reason for asking is I'd like to restrict my dns entries to a internal zone inste...

Re: Faulty RB2011UiAS-RM

Both of mine are rackmounts as well (RB2011UiAS-RM). Didn't think that would make a difference. I have two RB2011's just like this currently. Ports 1-5 work perfectly as a dumb switch, but there does not seem to be a way to communicate with the internals. The LCD screen is white as well. I've tried ...

Re: v6.23 almost ready for FULL RELEASE - please check lates

schrotn , it might be present in the previous versions. I've seen it constantly since 6.22. All my production routers that were affected by this are holding at 6.21.1 and seem fine right now. I can't upgrade anymore until it is fixed, I was just curious if you foresee this being a long term issue o...

*) using routing-marks could lead to tunnel loop detection to turn off tunnels;
Is this issue being worked on for a later release or is it going to be a problem for a while?

Leroylim:
Are you getting a "transmit loop detected" entry in your logs?

I've been getting the same thing, and I just couldn't figure out where the loop could possibly be coming from... I'll be happy if this is a bug with 6.22 instead of having to change all my tunnels around.

Re: processor 100% on ethernet

I've seen this same issue on the RB2011s I run as well. It is not limited to the ethernet processes. Its affected routing, bridging, and a couple others. One even happened with IPSec, and that router's IPSec config has never been touched. Only way I've found to fix it is to power cycle the router. A...
