The Blinq LTE that I am connecting to has 2 APNs, when I goto add a second APN I get a message that says only one APN is supported. Is this normal? I'm wondering why the website graph url uses no password.
I feel that is very insecure.
There is no way to disable the graphs, If I remove the interface rule, I still get
"Traffic and system resource graphing"

Use IPv4 private segment for infrastructure and public IP just for clients..

I just tried with GRE6 and had the same problems. some sites work, others don't. wpcentral.com never works and wellsfargo.com seems to work 1/2 the time.. very strange.
Of course if I switch back to total IPv4 routing , everything works perfect..

The IPIPv6 tunnel seems hopeful but it is not working 100% right now.

are you saying to increase the MTU on my computers Ethernet? I don't this that is a good solution as I cant expect all my clients to understand how to do that. The IPIPV6 Tunnel has a field for MTU and its default is set at 1460, I will set it to 1520 and see if that helps.

I had the port flapping issue on a 433ah ROS 5.3
the customer was complaining of webex and ftp dropping.
I upgraded to ROS 5.5 and the flapping stopped.

I can telnet in via MAC address or IP address, but only from inside the AP, as they are all behind the hotspot.

I have disabled everything I can in the BIOS, com ports, parallel ports, usb, power support, floppy
The weird thing is that is works in 2.9.46 and does not in 3.0rc5.

I will see if there is a BIOS upgrade available.

Atheros CPEs are fine, this problem occurs when you have lots of prism clients, and an atheros AP. So if you are all atheros, or at least most atheros, you should have no problem.

8602 still has an Atheros chipset. The older 2511 has a prisim chipset.
you are correct and the problem persists with an 8602.

I have tried many different timing strategies, from as fast as a can to letting sit for 1 hour.. no change, it appears that it works withing the first 20 seconds or so after enabling, and after that if the people arnt on, they will not get on again, unless you disable the radio.

I talked with someone at ubiquiti today and he thinks the problem has something to do with noise.
the noise floor on my nodes averages around -105, which is pretty good. If a -105 is considered noisy, then we have a major problem, or is it a wrong reading ?

I get great bandwidth. I can pull 15 megs TCP, there is no noticable problem other that I see the CPU running high.

I have set the power to default, and then I change it to all-fixed-rates.. ALso the power meter works in 5.8 , 5.3, and 2.4. I always change the frequency to 5785 before I start the test.

these look cool.. how mnuch do they cost? anyway.. what mode are they in? I know some CPEs do DHCP and NAT on the inside.. and if everyone is getting the same IP.. it might be coming from the ovislink See if you can check into the cleints hardware for the NAT and DHCP settings..

answer to my own question... I had my own internal routing issues with the mk - mk pptpt link, but at the clients house I found this to be the problem.

it was the firmware in the cleints netgear router. After that upgrade, it worked perfectly.

How do I arrange for the TCP control connection (port 1723) and the GRE protocol to make it through your NATing MikroTik?


I thought that it would normally pass these, as many of our existing clients use VPN to their work.

well now we know why the Atheros shows no noise. I have a feeling the Mikrotik doesnt really care to much about Prism and therefore insnt going to take much time in developing a noise setting that only works on those cards.. it would be a GREAT feature that would probably help out alot.

ok Ill bite on the explantion.. but can you explain why the signal is differnet?

If I have 13db radio and 14 db antenna conencting to a 14db antenna and a 113db radio.. shouldnt the signal be the same on both sides?

It is a properly configured website. When I looked at torch without the rule on, I noticed the since I am using a hotspot that I have a transparent http proxy and all http trafffic goes throught the hotpsot proxy address, I think I need to apply my rule after the proxy?

Turns out the camera was mis-configured.. I didnt configure it, so it took me awahile to look at the camera.. and sure enough no default gateway was set.. now it is working great!

I found the answer, the Hotspot did not setup DNS rule that captured the DNS.. so I added that rule manually and viola, It started seding radius requst and showing me the hotspot login page.

How far apart are your nodes? I am thinking this might be a ACK-timeing issue.

Mine was set a dynamic, when I click on status, I see it is 25. The handy chart in the Docs suggest for that my 5km shot, I should be using 52. So I am now playing with that.. Ill post how it goes.

all other AP softwarehas sig/noise reading.. what good is it to know your signal strength is -68 if you cant tell if the nosie is -70 or -90.. that is a big difference in the acutal SNR.. it could be a 2 or a 22..
