Re: CRS112-8P-4S-IN cannot block MAC Winbox

You can't block MAC WinBox with IP firewall, that's expected. Would you still be able to connect from ether1 with allowed-interface-list set to LAN ? It is truth until this still doesn't block MAC server.......(remember I blocked everything) /interface bridge settings set use-ip-firewall=yes And th...

Re: CRS112-8P-4S-IN cannot block MAC Winbox

Your IP address should be on the bridge, not on ether2. You didn't even specify what version of RouterOS you're running. What response do you expect? It's 6.44.3. You're right IP on slave interface isn't correct. FYI the IP in ether2 was generated by quick set(which seems another bug?), just a fast...

CRS112-8P-4S-IN cannot block MAC Winbox

We're testing the CRS112-8P-4S-IN. We suddenly found we can't block MAC winbox access even block everything in IP firewall and allow nothing in mac-winbox-server. We can still access Winbox through MAC address via ether1 with config below. Mostly are done from Quick Set(router mode) with some unnece...

Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

One of my hEX enabled auto-upgrade. It upgraded this morning(I’m in Macau) to 6.44. The new version messed the interface list result firewall filter went wrong. The situation is: I got 2 more interfaces in a interface list which wasn’t before update(and the list supposed to be blocked by firewall). ...

Re: v6.44beta [testing] is released!

security by obscurity Anyway management interfaces, be it Winbox, APIs, ssh, web and whatnot should never be exposed without proper filtering. So the version display is harmless in my opinion. I agree. If the untrusted person can see your TELNET interface, you are in much bigger trouble than an exp...

Re: USB LTE modem with external IP functionality?

You can still set up a VPN to route your public IP.
Many many services doesnt reliable with VPN. e.g. UDP based streaming without MTU configable.

Re: USB LTE modem with external IP functionality?

The mobile provider don't provide public IP address, so you can not use functionality of public address, remote access to router, port forwarding etc..
I specially applied the static public IP on LTE, I confirm it works. But l need a USB modem for my application.

Re: USB LTE modem with external IP functionality?

I had these hardware already, but that just doesn't fit my case. I'm heading for a USB modem. The peripherals wiki doesn't state anything about LTE functionality. I'm quite wonder about that.

USB LTE modem with external IP functionality?

I read the supported hardware list in wiki(https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Peripherals). But I can't distinguish which one of them has FULL functionality in LTE interface. May I get an answer from official staff? Or anybody has experience or recommendation? Thanks!

The most CCR for BGP would sorted out before they will release v7
so the problems also resolve themselves, no more need for ROS v7
No, I'm still waiting for VirtIO support in v7

I've deployed this years ago. You can now use ARM board to do this in a very low cost.

feature request: Wireless/CAPsMAN/LAN <-> hotspot integration?

If my understanding is correct, Mikrotik's hotspot is a layer 3 service. The basic concept is DSTNAT and HTTP proxy. For vendor like Aruba, Extreme, SonicWall and Ruckus, they usually combine WiFi(layer2) and hotspot(layer3) together. This makes management easy: kick out/de-associate(layer 2), chang...

mAP lite + USB LTE modem using portable mobile battery?

Hi, is it possible to use mAP lite plugged with USB LTE modem while powering by a 5V USB portable battery? I know some of 7V/8V RBs works under 5V with no USB voltage output(or too less ampere). However, mAP lite supports 5V officially. How about it's USB?

Is it possible to have a table view to monitor Mikrotik's CAPSMAN and related features? for example: - CAPSMAN(Active, Registration table) + Hotspot combined table width, like unifi/netsight - Signal strength history like wireless section in Router OS's quickset - cAP status including traffic histor...

balance-rr Bonding on top of EoIP keep losing packets?

hei guys I just did some experiment for bond 2 WAN via EoIP. My purpose is to speed up my uploading rate but I found that the balance-rr mode keep losing packets. Just a summary of my setup Internet conneciton: - 1xADSL (15M/1M) - 1xWifi (the terminal is also a ADSL with 15M/1M and same ISP) - the w...

Re: Sync DNS entries with DHCP leases

Wouldn't it be more efficient and less error prone to use a lease-script on the DHCP server? And in it, you just compute the desired name, prepending it to the zone. Speaking of which... What name is this generating? I can see it appends the zone name in the end, but what's the previous part based ...

Re: retundant mikrotik fail-over.

I guess you can write some script to monitor each other. And take over if one down. Maybe a bonded LAN with stacked switches, and a VLAN channel for monitoring(pulsing). Take over means to enable some interface(VLAN is good idea) or even you can have some api to enable/disable ports in switch(It can...

Sync DNS entries with DHCP leases

Hi everybody I wrote a script to sync DNS entries with DHCP leases so that you don't need to maintain two list manually. Actually it does store all the leases and hostnames in the script and then apply(replace) them to DNS server and DHCP server. So you only need to care the config in script(which a...

Re: Tool: Realtime per IP traffic monitor for home/office

Great works you did. BTW, I'd like to ask if you will release the source or not? I think this is a great idea to enrich more functions for this app. For my personal opinion, I think it should at least have a column for connect manually instead of store the server address in a INI file. And also it s...

address-list not saving after reboot?

I found that the address-list in firewall is not saving during reboot. I've tested 3xRB750GL(v6.2) and 1xPC(v5.5) both act same. I can't find any words mentioned about this(not saving while reboot) in mikrotik documents. So is it purpose to be clear after reboot? What is the solution if I scheduled ...

I from a serious problem in my RB750GL(OS v6.1 L4). I doubt if it’s broken or not. The situation is, the RB got freeze(lost connection in any physical port) after I touch any configuration in "Interfaces" page. Even though I just get into the detail page inside any of interface(in webFig) ...
