Re: v6.36rc [release candidate] is released, wireless-fp package is discontinued!

Let´s summarize the feature requests for wireless-rep: Is it possible to show CCQ for each connected client? Or dropped / retransmitted frames percentage? Is it possible to perform background scan for each remote radio? (It would be helpful to see connection quality statistics as well as channel us...

Depends a lot on the distribución and density.
We did a theater for 400 people with 8 APs. We lower the power on them to reduce overlap. Also the 400 devices are not always active at the same time.

First, is there a chance for you to upgrade?
Second, you can allow your 10 places/ips and block the rest,

Or you can make static entries in the mk DNS and block other requests and have the mk as your clients DNS.

Maybe it is overloading the devices. You can apply a limit to the connections from your update server IP to the clients so those do not saturate your network. Using queues. I believe there is also an option inside the console that allows you to set the max throughput of the server. As krisjanis said...

Are both wans the same speed? Do you really want one active and the other as a passive failover? Better have both active. Easiest way is to put the failover route with a 2 distance so in case the main one stops working the 2nd kicks in. Check them with ping in the route configuration. Sent from my N...

You can use the master port no problem. Usually 1 is the master port. If your LAN is flat and the AP is part of the same network you can have it as part of the same switch. Some solutions require the port to be isolated and use routing rules to provide access to the other services. Sent from my Nexu...

Re: CCR1009 turning Routed Ports into Switch Ports

Nice, I did not know any ports had a hardware switch chip. I'm assuming it would be possible to software switch the other ports, but ports 1-4 would be preferred because they would be hardware switched. Also is there any performance disadvantage to using ports 1-4 as routed ports since they have a ...

Yes. The parent sets the max values of the tree. The child's receive from the parent accordingly. Remember that queues are from the router out perspective. So you will have one from router to LAN for download and another from router to WAN for uploads.

Probably just one set of mangle rules and 2 htb rules. First mark the GRE connections and packets. Then create a queue tree with priority 1 and the amount of traffic you want to allocate from you total to GRE data and applied to the marked packets. For the rest another with priority 8 and fix a smal...

Also you can use rsa keys with you servers. So you have no need to type a password. Also read carefully and try to understand the IP firewall filter rules.
