Re: v7.13 [stable] is released!

Has MT an air time fairness implementation at all? Isn't that something off-standards?
- MT's own old wireless drivers? => No

- wifiwave2 with chipset vendors driver? => Yes, those driver supports it, but is it enabled by MikroTik for IPQ40xx?

So, what iperf throughput do you get with 2x2:2 MIMO Up and down with 20, 40 and 80 MHz channels for 2.4 and 5.0 GHz? What access point are you refering to? TP-Link EAP620 or EAP660HD?

Re: Audience

Audience is just using CAPsMAN and link with other CAP-devices on the third wlan similar to repeater (bridge-ap/station-bridge).
It is not using WDS mesh or any specific mesh technology.

Re: Audience

Of course you can duplicate the functionality of Audience with other devices, RouterOS is very flexible and you can reconfigure any number of MikroTik products to achieve the same functionality. The benefit of Audience is that the secondary 5GHz interface is built into the same enclosure and the wh...

Re: 802.11ac Wave2 Support?

Yes, like I said, MU-MIMO is the only missing thing right now. Wave2, to my knowledge, doesn't have any other things RouterOS doesn't support already.
Will MU-MIMO be supported in V7 only or in V6, aswell?

Mikrotik's Audience: running in cAP mode:?

Currently, "the Audience" (https://mikrotik.com/product/audience) is MikroTik's most powerfull access point, which is meant to be used for meshing and therefore has a preset button to do so. I actually have some locations in mind where I'd set those up where a normal access point like cAP ...

RouterOS 7 uses Linux Kernel 4.14.131. Doesn´t this one provide e.g. native 802.11r/k support with IPQ4018/IPQ4019 based chipsets? So, the problem wit hAP ac2 + cAP ac could be automatically be resolved...?

1. routeros-7.0beta1-arm.npk
2. RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN
3. Just enable 5 GHz, set frequency to 5180 ceee, no secondary frequency, scan list to 5180
result: On status tab it tells me "initializing". It never starts sending any SSID.

One question I asked myself multiple times is why MikroTik doesn't use the drivers from chipset vendors. There are some different opinions about this: 1. Philosophy: MikroTik doesn't want to be depending on the vendor. Keep full control of RouterOS. If this is the management's decision, that's it. -...

Time to Market would be rather short, If you take the design of the RB4011, add 2 antennas for 2.4 GHz, remove the QCA9984 and the R11e-2HnD and put in 2 QCA6390 so finally can achieve a Quad Radio 802.11ax access point with 2x 2.4GHz and 2x 5.0GHz. This would be something no other vendor currently ...
