Re: Mikrotik S+RJ10 third party switch compatibility [SOLVED]

I would only consider them if your switch has active cooling or is in an air-conditioned environment. I've had them overheating in my NetFiber and FiberBox switches with passive cooling. They reached 114 C and would shut down for 20 minutes to cool down. One of my guys burnt his hand while removing ...

Re: Port flapping PowerBox RB 750P r2

Have you ruled out moisture building up inside a cable and working its way inside the PowerBox? You mentioned that you were using Ubiquiti FTP Cable. Are you also using the metal jacketed Tough Connectors and ensuring that both the ESD drain wire and foil make contact with the metal jacket? Do you u...

Re: Best Device to run Dude

I just had 4 of these 64 GB Lexar P20 devices arrive today. Nice looking, complimenting the black Rb3011 perfectly. Read speeds of 400 Mbps and write 270 Mbps. I think that should do it! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161201/d13c93d2d7d376bca913c583794aade1.jpg Sent via my mobile device on Tapatalk

You've been around here long enough to know exactly which model you need. You're just boasting about your new 1Gb connection.

Congrats & enjoy! :-)

Re: RB3011 sold out in US - available anywhere else?

For WISPs - it's not just speed/price (which I agree, is great) - it's speed/price/physical form factor - smaller being better..
I too am looking forward to the smaller form factor to fit into my tower enclosures. Bonus points if it come with a DIN mount.

Consider this outdoor window/wall suction cup CPE mount. They work remarkably well, no screw holes required. https://goo.gl/Cuf3Pr Mount this discretely outside the camper, run your cable inside then use a small, low powered AP inside. They can fall off occasionally in bad weather. But it's easy to ...

Re: Firewall Messed Up after Upgrade

If anyone else had this issue. All it is, is that tracking gets turned to auto on 6.x which doesn't seem to work. You just hit tracking and change it to yes. Just a stupid little setting that screwed me up for 2 weeks. Auto only works if you have rules in your firewall. This post of yours just solv...

I found a brand of non metallic spray paint made for plastic. It was cheap, I found it at Walmart. It's called Fusion for Plastic. It came in a limited set of colors: green, brown, beige, camouflage green and a few others. I can't remember if black was an option. I've used it a few times. Took signa...

Re: PowerBox: water getting inside & resetting everything

Have you figured out exactly where the water was in the device? I would be willing to bet the cable compartment. Yes, I believe that the water was initially at the bottom of the cable compartment where it could have done no harm at all had I left it alone. Unfortunately I didn't open it up to check...

PowerBox: water getting inside & resetting everything

I'll start off stating that this was my fault in how I physically handled the device. Now that I know that this can happen I'll be able to prevent it in the future. I have a PowerBox mounted at the top of a small relay tower. It poured rain and the wind blew hard for several days in a row last week....

Also it is noted (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:PoE-Out): When: ether1-poe-in-long-cable =yes “This is potentially dangerous settings and should be used with caution” How about some more details please, as this seems to be a necessary setting to actually use the RB750UP’s potential especiall...
