Re: Newsletter 97 (September 2020)

I built hap ac3 in the same place as hap ac2. Disappointed, the 5ghz signal is the same. In one place, the speed dropped by half.
Can you make some tests more? How you decided that signal is the same? Some config pls.

HAP AC2 was shipped with 256MB ram from first production batch, and newer more. 128MB is default one, and all batches after that was with 128MB ram. Anyway is enought for every configuration scenario.

Why not new hAP ac² ? it have better CPU then Hex even, and support Dude Server? On 200mbps traffic CPU usage is only 12-14%. Its based on new ARM architecture and its more powerfull then ever.

CVE-2018-5951: MikroTik RouterOS Denial of Service Vulnerability

A vulnerability in MikroTik RouterOS allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to force a router to reboot. This is done by sending a packet of the size of 1 byte to RouterOS's IPv6 address using IP proto 97. All versions of RouterOS with EoIPv6 support are likely vulnerable to this attack. This att...

1. What is IP pool on your mikrotik? is pool in format 192.168.1.XXX or default 192.168.88.1 ? If is 192.168.1.XXX then you probably do something wrong in NAT-ing. If you use default MT pool 192.168.88.1, then you must set Fixed IP adress from MT pool 192.168.88.XXX.

Re: HAP AC

I dont understand why hAP AC will have only 160 mW output power? Why reduce the output power from 1000 mw to 160? Also CPU is only 650 Mhz, that is too poor for this time we live..

Normis, why you dont make hAP AC with 1000 mW Wireless power like 951Ui, 951G and RB2011UiAS??

You have only one rule for firewall filter . Make a new one to separate 192.168.99.10/24 not 192.168.90.0/24 as you do now.. Look that ip adress on ether1-gateway is 192.168.99.0. Also when set dhcp client set the lease time to be 00:10:00 not 3d 00:00:00
