Re: Problems using AX8817X based USB-Ethernet adapters

Hi Y'all, I have an update for this old thread... Noticed on ROS 7.5 that my AX88179A chip-based USB3 to ethernet adapter is recognized, but as an LTE device. Interestingly, it seems to fully work! It shows up dynamically in /IP/DHCP Client and gets an IP. The brand is "CableCreation", USB...

Re: ** WE WANT A LTE BRIDGE-MODE **

Thanks MikroGik, your help is much appreciated . I see what you're saying about a cellular carrier assigned IP being un-routable. I will attempt to learn how to implement your suggested VPN option. Unfortunately I'm not an IP networking expert - if you could point me in the direction of some inform...

Re: ** WE WANT A LTE BRIDGE-MODE **

+1 Any news? I have several RB912UAG-2HPnD's with Sierra Wireless MC7700 Mini-PCIe LTE aircards I'm trying to use for an IoT project. They are very stable and work great except for the inability to remote into them from outside. If I could get the LTE Public IP out to the ether1 & wlan it would...

Re: ** WE WANT A LTE BRIDGE-MODE **

Uldis et al, I'm not sure why you guys consider Sierra Wireless cards, such as the MC7700 or the USB AirCard 313U, not being capable of doing IP passthrough. I can give you two specific examples from my personal use of these functioning beautifully in that mode. The CradlePoint IBR600 router, which ...

Replicate Netgear WNCE2001 wireless bridge function on mAP2

I want to replicate on an mAP2 the functionality of the excellent Netgear WNCE2001 wireless-to-ethernet adapter, which many of you may know. The way the Netgear works, of course, is it has a built in IP address for the web mgmt of its functionality, and it also passes thru the IP address from whatev...

Downgraded to 6.37.3 and IPSec is back to connecting again.

Re: After 6.38, Site-2-Site IPSec breaks on router with L2TP server

Here are two snippets from the ipsec debug log - not sure they say very much.
Snippets were taken on the L2TP server end. The red 74. IP address is the L2TP client side.

After 6.38, Site-2-Site IPSec breaks on router with L2TP server

Have two site-to-site L2TP/IPSEC networks, where one end is common to both (x86 RouterOS router box). x86 box acts as L2TP server for one network, and as client for the other. Box upgraded to 6.38. The other two ends are: VPN network1: RB2011 running 6.38 - L2TP client VPN network2: x86 running 6.37...

Re: RouterOS 6.34 (RTM) on .vdi CHR and Dude Client cannot connect - 10061

I've never tried the pre-release versions, but I can confirm that I'm unable to connect with the Windows client to the Dude server. That's on three x86 machines. Then I discovered by doing /dude print, that the Dude server is not in fact running on any of them, even though installation of the server...

Re: DDNS Script for No-IP Updated!

Guys, It's over a year later, but I thought I'd post my success for others' benefit: The no-ip script mentioned above works, but only if: 1. in addtion to read/write/test, policy is also checked in the script setup pane (instructions in wiki need updating). If it's not checked, script will look, but...

How To Choose RouterOS Install Partition on HDD?

Folks, I'm trying to install RouterOS to a PC which has several partions on its HDD. One of those is an empty one that I'd like to use for RouterOS. The problem is, when I boot from the RouterOS CD, there is never a question as to which disk/partition would I want installation to go to. I've venture...

Re: Advice please, best RouterBoard for site to site SSTP VP

@bkuhn - How many concurrent site-to-site IPSec tunnels, would you guess, the RB2011 can handle? I must plan ahead for at least 25-30 concurrent L2TP/IPSec tunnels and I'm trying to pick the right MikroTik hardware for that. I already have a RB2011, but wondering if I need do move up to the new RB85...

Possible Quick Set bug -- permanent "Ethernet-Only" setting

Hello People, New MikroTik user here with the following issue on a new mAP-2n I can tell that an earlier problem with the NAT network going down whenever WLAN was turned off has successfully been fixed. http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=74720 However, I still end up loosing my NAT ne...
