Re: v6.35.1 [current] is released!

I had a bug upgrading to this. I use policy based routing, and had 3 route tables and main. All my routes in my other route tables besides main went down when I upgraded. They would not show as active. I had to completely remove them all, and add them all back in with different table names in order ...

Re: Active route in non-main routing table question

It was a bug with the ROS.

I had updated to the latest ROS. The routes in the non main tables would not mark as active. Once I deleted them and recreated them with a new route table, everything worked.

Thanks anyways.

Active route in non-main routing table question

I have a question. I have added routes in the main routing table using gateway of: address, interface, and ip%interface. Created routed in other routing table for same route but to a different interface. The routes ( in fact all routes ) in my other routing table show not active. I assume this is th...

Re: Challenge if anyone is up to it.

Yeah, I'm a one man ISP. So I'm the only one that deals with the routers. So it's all good. Thanks again for the in sites.

Re: Challenge if anyone is up to it.

Just to follow up. I was able to successfully set this up. There are still a little bit of an issue with multi-homed. But works fine for one input to the outside world and 2 ports splitting the traffic out to. The key things were: 1) Had to make sure the Mark Connection rules had Connection-Mark: no...

Re: Challenge if anyone is up to it.

Ok, I moved the rules as you specified. I didn't know that it would make a difference. But it does appear that more traffic is going out the correct interfaces. By tomorrow I should know for sure if those changes did it.

Re: Challenge if anyone is up to it.

Oh, the client has to have the public IPs assigned to his servers. It reads the server configurations and makes choices based off of what IP address the server has. I just read up on hairpin NAT, pretty cool, I hadn't seen that term before, but both of those are unfortunately not an option in this c...

Re: Challenge if anyone is up to it.

Well, you could do a selective NAT based on the blacklist - or simply have a policy route to next-hop=IP of filter box/sandbox which redirects all destination IPs to self and then replies on whatever service is desired with ye olde sandbox..... Or you could put a router in front of the sandbox and ...

Re: Challenge if anyone is up to it.

There is actually a point to this. The reason I can't NAT it is that each port is not a /24. It is more like a /15 of public IPs. I can't really NAT using 100,000 source IPs.. ;) And this is actually live and in production. I have a custom project where a company is basically building a subscription...

Challenge if anyone is up to it.

So, I have an interesting setup that I want to try out. A bit of a challenge. Just thought I'd see what people thought, and if there is a problem with my logic here. This is actually a simplified version of what I'm trying to accomplish, but illustrates the issue. Assume these are all public IPs, no...

Fast Path Question

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. But is it possible to use Fast Path as well as Filters and / or Mangling? I have a situation that I split traffic based on TCP Port. Specifically all traffic to a destination IP list using TCP Ports XXXX-YYYY gets a routing mark, which uses so...

Re: Routing Issue - Can't ping gateway from other routers

So I was able to get it working using global addresses for all interfaces, instead of some interfaces using a private ip address. I've set up my ipv6 space the same way, and I'm having an issue. Which maybe is related to the previous issue. When I look at the routes R3 (or R2 or R4) receives from R1...

Re: Routing Issue - Can't ping gateway from other routers

No, I wasn't wanting to run any NAT. Trying to keep these routers as lean and quick as possible.

Re: Routing Issue - Can't ping gateway from other routers

So basically the OSPF was putting in the routing table the routes with no preferred source address. When the router would originate packets, it would pick the best route, and since there was no preferred source address, it would pick an ip address on the adapter, the private one. The only public ip ...

Routing Issue - Can't ping gateway from other routers

I also posted all the details in this serverfault link. http://serverfault.com/questions/661693/routing-issue-cant-ping-gateway-from-other-routers-in-full-mesh Basically I have 4 mikrotik routers set up in a full mesh, with OSPF, MPLS, and iBGP between them. Everything works fine internally. But all...
