Re: L3 Routing - CCR2004-16G-2S+ or CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+ v7

I wouldn't use a CRS for that. Also, what are the links between those 4 locations? Do you have a fully L2 connection between those locations without any restrictions? If using external providers for these links, a lot of them have mac limits in place. I have similar setups running. Usually a CCR1009...

Re: Help me choose a two-SIM Mikrotik solution: RBM33G vs. LtAP vs. ?

The EM12G is a LTE CAT12 device

Mikrotik currently offers only CAT4 and CAT6 devices which, to me, is rather outdated.

So if you're switching board/radio's you're good, but otherwise you might experience lower performance

Re: LtAP mini LTE6 kit abandoned?

Also, if they are EOL, any plans for newer models? Last year, I've replaced my LtAP with a Huawei B818. Massive imporvement in both speed and coverage, especially in rural areas. CAT4/CAT6 is, in my opinion, not really up-to-date nowadays. Especially the benefits of mimo and more supported channels ...

Switch isolation settings missing in export

Hello, Device: CRS328-4C-20S-4S+RM I did configure port isolation in my config, using switch - port isolation - enable forwarding override to the uplink port. In Winbox this is displayed properly. On the terminal, I can confgure/add these also using /interface ethernet switch port-isolation set 0 for...

Re: CWDM-MUX8A

Yes, you can, but - You'll need an additional splitter to combine both RX and TX, since you're planning using single strand. - You'll have additional losses due to the combined RX/TX and connectors - You're only using half of the wavelengths, since you need the others at the other side to be demuxed...

Re: CRS328-4C-20S-4S+RAM upgrade

Why bidi? Attenuation is usually specified for 1310 and 1550nm wavelengths. 1310nm has a higher attenuation compared to 1550nm, depending on the fiber type. Bidi uses 1270/1330nm, so even if you have sufficient power budget to establish link, there is less remaining budget to compensate for small fi...

Re: CRS328-4C-20S-4S+RAM upgrade

No problem usually, but it depends on your link loss.

Are using WDM? In those cases you have to included the mux losses as well.

As a general rule: Any 80km optic usually will work, but you can only confirm this for sure if you know the line loss.

Re: v6.39rc80 [release candidate] is released!

From the release notes:

What's new in 6.39rc80 (2017-Apr-25 09:23):
*) snmp - added optical table;

I was missing this for a long time. Hope to finally be able to monitor power levels on optics using SNMP.

Any more information about this? What are the OID's for this?

Which channels are you using and which iphone?

I know there was an issue with DFS channels which has been rsolved in a RC

Re: CRS Config - Vlans

You can do vlans either on the switch or on the CPU. The usual way of doing it in the CPU and creating vlan interfaces is not recommended. If you check the block diagram you'll see the CPU has only 1Gbit. So by using the CPU you're actually limiting the switch to a slow device. Its far better to use...

Re: hotel room wifi with hap lite

I would strongly recommended dualband AP's, unless the hotel is in a remote location. In urban environments, stable connectivity at 2.4Ghz is an issue. Whats the timeframe you want to install this? You might look at the upcoming wsAP ac lite. You can fix that one in a standard walls socket, so it ma...

Re: RB2011UiAS-RM & FTTH

It depends what your provider does use. If its a passive optical network (eg a fixed amount of bandwith shared with multiple customers), which is GPON, you have to use a GPON optic. Based on the mediaconverter which you're linking to it seems they are using 'regular' fiber links. In that case the op...

Re: Severe BUG in firmware 6.37.x - 6.38.5 ! PROBLEM !

We were able to detect the false radar detection - iPhone 6s were triggering the DFS. We were able to fix it. Current RC version (v6.39rc58) contains a fix for that. And in the next RC version which we will release soon we have finetuned that detection even better. Note that there are two other iss...

Re: Which 80km fiber SFP+ modules 10G-ZR work

We did get some of the fiberstore modules and they seem to be working. First shipment we got from them didn't work for some reason, but the replacements seem to be working fine. WDM or grey? I don't have 10Gbit grey optics to test. CWDM works (altough I only have some shorter links). For all longer...

Re: Which 80km fiber SFP+ modules 10G-ZR work

I'm having issues with 80Km optics. 10Gbase-SR works fine, also for 10Km CWDM optics. 1Gbase-ZR 80km also works (but those are 1Gbit). For the CWDM optics, optics are recognized, powerlevels are fine, and link is established. 10Gbase DWDM / 80Km doesnt come up. I have to manually disable and re-enab...

Re: CCR1072 - M.2 SSD compatibility

Any updates? Seems most PCIe M2 SSDs nowadays are PCIe3.0x4 Also, since I'm not very familar with M2 SSDs, they seem to be available in AHCI and NVMe version. I can't find a list of verified/working/compatible SSD's. Since the CCR1072 has 2 slots: Is it possible to run the SSDs in RAID, or are they ...

Re: CRS226-24G-2S+ routing speed

So in fact, this device works as a 24-port switch with a simple routerboard in 1 case? Since the Mikrotik website was labelling it as a 'L3 switch' I was hoping to have some decent throughput. Off course I wasn't expecting full throughput when using nat and a lot of other cpu-intensive jobs, but for...

CRS226-24G-2S+ routing speed

What is the routing speed of this device? I am considering this unit to bridge between 2 networks. It only needs to do switching and 1 default route. No ACL or other things, just plain routing. Uplink port will be 1x 10Gbit. Can this unit do this or do I need the CCR? I think this will be sufficient...
