Re: The Dude IS Dead, really, isn't it?

yeah, it would be nice if we could create a new project inspired by dude as an opensource. This way we wouldn't be dependent of mikrotik will to develop the software. Maybe a kickstarter projetct to fund it. Something that big as open source? Yeah, not going to happen. The industry is flooded with ...

Re: Bridge port received packet with own address as source, probably loop

Happens fairly often for me, seem to be something to do with Capsman, and only my one AP does it the other AP's seem ok. Rebooting my RB2011 seems to fix it but only for a few hours.

Re: For real, what is with these blinding power leds?

The LED's are very bright, means I can't run it in any room where someone is going to sleep at all. While tape works it shouldn't be the answer. From my 2011's to my CCR they all have very bright blue LED's.

You don't have to get too creative. : - )
Best naming convention in a business. Don't want to confuse others that has to work on that network as well.

Have you ruled out the speedtest server as a possible issue?

Have you tried to connect another computer to WAN and test the throughput using a tool like iperf?

Receiving packets on PPPoE connection and forwarding packets on Eth1

I have a setup where my Mikrotik is connected to my network via Eth1. On the network I have a bridge which bridges an ADSL modem into my network (using Vlans via a different router). From Eth 1 I do a PPPoE connection which works as expected and I can receive my traffic. Forwarding the traffic back ...

No. explane how your nas or gaming station use the 10 ge interface better than 1gig interface. How fast do you write to diks in the nas? How fast does the game machine receive packets - and last - how fast is your internet connection. :) There is no need for more than 1 gig connection at anny homes...

Re: What can be improved in hEX (RB750Gr3)?

Already people are suggesting a hEX with 10 Gbps. This is getting more and more ridiculous! The router you want is A DIFFERENT MODEL. NOT a hEX. You should look in de MikroTik product gamma (or elsewhere) for the router you need, not suggest that the hEX is redesigned to be that router. For the peo...

Using forwarded IP

I have an IP address that is a public IP (let's call it 192.168.1.1/32 for demonstration purposes). Said IP address is forwarded via a tunnel with a Private IP address in the 10.0.0.0/8 range. All incoming traffic to 192.168.1.1 get forwarded to my 10.0.0.0/8 IP address over an PPPoE interface. I ha...

1:1 NAT

I have a private IP address of 192.168.1.3/32. I have a NATted static IP address of (1.1.1.1). The traffic to the static IP gets sent to 192.168.1.3/32. Have an issue on my 2011, the LCD screen stays on after a reboot showing "Starting services". Only way to get it off is by enabling and disabling the LCD screen. Started happening on the first RC that implemented the new bridges.

Same here. CRS125. 8% cpu usage for Management. Nothing special set up, using ether 1 as master, and ether 2 - 24 as slaves of ether1.

None of my other RB'S do that.

Why not go fibre? Copper is really not worth rolling out, most customers will prefer Fibre anyway. Even for back bone links Fibre will work better.
