Re: LtAP mini only connects to 3G

Yeah, but the R11e-LTE has its own firmware (don't confuse it with the RouterBoard "firmware" which is actually a bootloader for RouterOS), and yours is running MikroTik_CP_2.160.000_ v008 whilst the up-to-date one is MikroTik_CP_2.160.000_ v018 . Ok, but your line; "And pray the who...

Re: LtAP mini only connects to 3G

Anyway, we swapped the sim from my mobile (runs G4/LTE) with the LtAP mini and verse versa and found that the sim is the culprit. My 'master' sim run G4 in the LtAP mini now and the 'duplo' (or duplicate) runs only G3 in my mobile. I had it double checked with an Orange salesrep and after trying in ...

Re: LtAP mini only connects to 3G

I would say let's start from pulling your R11e-LTE into 2021 as it is almost over now. As I could not find how to do firmware upgrade using Winbox, you'll have to try using the command line (you can get a command line window by pressing the [New Terminal] button in Winbox). Make sure that the power...

MNO - Mobile Network Operator, yes, it is the cellphone operator. And yes, LtAP mini, or rather the R11e-LTE used in it, may not cover some bands the operator is using in your particular country. There's the "united market" but still quite some regulations remain country-specific. If the ...

Verify that broadband modem in LtAP mini supports LTE band used by new MNO in your area. List of supported bands for R11e-LTE card (the one shipped with LtAP mini LTE kit) does contain all the usual European LTE FDD bands (B20 - 800 MHz, B8 - 900 MHz, B3 - 1800 MHz, B1 - 2100 MHz, B7 - 2600 MHz) an...

Band; "5Ghz-N/AC" versus "5Ghz-only-AC"

If AP works with 5Ghz-only-AC should CPE also work in "only-AC"? Or is "N/AC" good enough? Does it trigger a different driver in CPE? Or does it make no difference at all? (We keep "N/AC" so we can always roll back if needed. But if "ac only" would be better I...

Re: ARM devices and NV2 protocol

Sounds to me a wireless issue. Yes, this is wireless bug. But only on ARM . Mipsbe, mmips don´t have this problem. This problem has nothing to do with SNR or CCQ . You can have the signal -45, CCQ = 100% and still disconnect from AP. The client will never reconnect himself. In scan from client duri...

Wireless settings are always a trade-off. Meaning raw speed goes at the expense of latency. If all your clients connect to 'n' protocol then you could leave the 'a' protocol rates unused but the 6mbps. Signals from connected clients (4 x wAP 60G) are weaker then before and variate between 65 and 30 at times. One of the clients almost never connect...

Re: Significant improvement for wireless Nv2 PtMP

You wrote that you have to test each AP separate, because the in different sectors the performance may differ. How you observed any patterns or AP/CPE combinations on which the issue repeats more often? This would give us valuable info to work with and improve the performance and stability. Well, t...

Re: Significant improvement for wireless Nv2 PtMP

Just done a test on a NetMetal 5 (921UAGS-5SHPacD) with 28 clients associated that runs on v.6.42.1 and latest firmware. AP radio is on 'only-N', 20/40MHz Ce, NV2 protocol, some fixed MCS rates, Hw. Retries = 3, 75% dynamic downlink mode and tdma 2ms period size. I have one client with SEXTANT (v6....

Re: Significant improvement for wireless Nv2 PtMP

Narrowing the scan-list on the CPE will reproduce what you are describing, on the AP it shouldn't have any effect whatsoever. After a reboot we have noticed a much faster clients wireless registration when scan list it reduced, if it's set to Default or in the above example it will take longer. Tha...

Re: Significant improvement for wireless Nv2 PtMP

Just curious why you have set the scan-list=5000-6000 as this results in the AP to listen to all frequencies between 5-6GHz - we when using 20Mhz channels set our AP's -/+ 20Mhz above and below the AP frequency, so for AP freq=5360 scan-list=5340-5480, just to add further we also set hw-retries=5, ...

Re: Only 3 x 60Ghz bands for 60G devices?

They have a longer range unit now, the "Dish" version. Of course it's the antenna what makes the difference. But that will only be suited to point to point links. I guess one of those "Dish" units used as CPE would get a much longer range than 200 m connecting to a w60AP unit. A...

60 Ghz indeed works perfect for short range high capacity back haul links. We have a 200 mtr, a 205 mtr. a 305 mtr and a 410 mtrs link from IgniteNet running. These are absolutely interference free links that can easy transport the 200-400Mbps of internet traffic (80/20 D/U) we'd only see at peak ti...

I think somewhere it was stated that 3 channel limitation is from the used 802.11ad radio chip, so that's probably not going to change unless they upgrade hardware. Or it would be nice to get new 60GHz radios with SFP or new 2.5/5Gbit/s wired ports so full channel capacity can be utilized. Would be...

Well, I cannot guarantee that it’ll do a lot, but at least short GI gives additional capacity by reaching higher datarates on 20MHz. Off course it will. It reduces some overhead traffic which will payout if you are trying to squeeze the max out of a connection. But if the link has difficult spectra...

Esp with full towers the limited (expensive) resource is spectrum. So squezing >100MBit out of a 10MHz Channel and reusing the same freq is worth the money. Are you talking bits per second or bytes? I am referring to 100Mbps. That would equal to only 12,5Mega Bits per second (KB/s) Would be interes...

Ce - eC automatic selection? Just a guess.
For AP? Because for station any 20/40/80 setting wil work with AP. No matter what AP is using. As long as the frequency of the scan range can 'see' the AP it will adapt.

Maybe set your wifi channel to combined ce and ec!
