SSTP Loosing IP addresses

Hi guys, We run a SSTP tunnel over internet from every client back to our office router. Over this, we poll routers with the dude. We are running between 80 and 90 tunnels, it works fairly well. We had to upgrade from a 2011 to a 1100 to keep the CPU usage down. But what i see most mornings is that ...

Re: CHR features from tool packages

For me, its only shutdown control that we need. Everything else is there. No shutdown control will make running these on smaller sites impossible.

Re: Cloud Hosted Router

Not needing a clean shutdown is great (it logs it tho.) but like above, the host will wait for it. It's not a super huge issue, but it would be great it one day it was added. It would allow for a quicker reboot of a host. And if that host is running the only router, shutting down before the host isn...

Re: Cloud Hosted Router

Im sorry is this has already been asked, but i can't see it. Are the Hyper-V integration components going to be added to the CHR? I have it up and working on the Hyper-V server no problems, but there is no ability shutdown the VM cleanly from the host. Without this, it will make the host wait 15 min...

Re: CRS VLAN Setup

Thanks heaps for that, i think that should help me out heaps.

What does the CVID do (Customer virtual ID) ? IS that to allow the same vlan ID on the same switch?

I think these switches are just geared too much up to use as a simple network switch.

CRS VLAN Setup

Hi guys, I have tried a few times, and cant work out how to put some tagged VLANs on a CRS. We currently use netgear switches, its as simple as creating a vlan, saying if we want tagged or access and away we go. E.G. port 1 Router port 2-4 VLAN 2 Native, Tagged ports 7-10, 15, 19 Port 5-6 VLAN 3 Nat...

Thanks heaps for this!

We have been putting in 4G dongles as a backup route for our clients, but need a way to know when they go offline, this is just the trick!

Re: IPSEC over EoIP - Dropping out

I think the main problem is the RB2011iL. From my 3022iLs to a x86 machine, no dropouts. But from the 2011iL all 3x are offline until i Reboot. I did try upgrading one end to 6.30.1 but couldnt get the tunnel up. I think ill do all 4 and go from there. We have lots of sites keen to start using this ...

IPSEC over EoIP - Dropping out

I have installed 6.30 on 3x routers to setup IPSEC over EoIP. The setup is easy, but after 24 hours, i seem to loose connection.

A reboot of one end can fix things, sometimes disabling the interface on the other end.

Am i alone in seeing this issue?

Re: Update IP Address-List by DNS lookup

Wow, that's a mad way of getting in, but super secure! I'll look more into that tomorrow. It's the kind of thing I can have setup on work laptops to allow access in from anywhere, but still be super secure. Thanks heaps! You could also implement a port knocking scheme in your firewall. Your situatio...

Update IP Address-List by DNS lookup

Hi guys, i'm fariley new to Mikrotik routers, but when i have a need for something, i try and work it out. The story goes, we have our client routers locked down (as they should be) i have my work IP ranges listed in IP Lists to allow remote management. This works a treat. Each range has its own lis...
