Re: CAPsMAN with vlans question [SOLVED]

No problem :) OK getting closer - this should get your CAP up. CAP: /interface bridge vlan add bridge=bridgeLocal tagged=ether1,bridgeLocal vlan-ids=30 Without bridgeLocal in there VLAN 30 is not passed on to the CPU on the CAP. I'd missed that you were doing bridge VLAN filtering on the CAP in the ...

Does anyone know if cAP's will work on a switch that doesn't do bridge vlan filtering? Yup have done so before on a CRS1xx. Re: CAPsMAN with vlans question [SOLVED]

I need to change this to ether5 (the trunk port that connects to switch). I think this may be the issue. Will update.

Looking at the switch config you will most likely need to add one of your vlan interfaces as a CAPsMAN interface. As all traffic coming from your switch is VLAN tagged.

Re: CAPsMAN with vlans question [SOLVED]

/caps-man manager interface
set [ find default=yes ] forbid=yes
add disabled=no interface=ether4

At the moment you're only accepting management traffic to the CAPsMAN on ether4 and this appears to be dedicated to CCTV/VLAN20. So maybe double check that you have the right interface there.

As far as I could see (again assuming I am looking at the right datasheet) the switch hardware supports basic routing and ACLs:

And yes I agree that a RB4011/5009 would handle that routing just fine.

Hi Mike, Quick question on your network - do you need routing between the VLANs? If so which device are you going to use to do that routing? The switch would make sense here as it is capable of doing it in hardware at wire speed (assuming I'm reading the right datasheet). If you're not moving a lot ...

docker only supports mips64. So what I understood so far, even if you made a mips rootfs, you can't make a docker image/container with it, as the architecture is unsupported. Re: RB750Gr3 - Report and questions

What CPU utilisation do you see on both RB750r3 when you hit 400+? thanks
Also forgot to add that CPU load is slightly less on the RX device. Around 40%

Re: RB750Gr3 - Report and questions

@dhoulbrooke do you get 400+ throughput regardless of the direction of iperf traffic flow? I assume yes since your test using two RB750r3 - one will be in opposite direction of the other at any time Correct. I get identical speeds both ways. What CPU utilisation do you see on both RB750r3 when you ...

Re: RB750Gr3 - Report and questions

Yes, that looks close to the limit. What packet size did you use? Those first tests were run with iperf's default settings which appear to have an MSS of 1386. root@iperf1:~# iperf3 -c 172.17.18.200 -V iperf 3.0.7 Linux iperf1 4.4.19-1-pve #1 SMP Wed Sep 14 14:33:50 CEST 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux Time:...

Re: RB750Gr3 - Report and questions

Hi all, I just did a quick test with 2x RB750Gr3 in tunnel mode and was able to quite happily get ~436Mbps: Accepted connection from 172.17.19.199, port 49824 [ 5] local 172.17.18.199 port 5201 connected to 172.17.19.199 port 49825 [ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth [ 5] 0.00-1.00 sec 49.2 MBytes 413...

Re: Short link(around 30m) - hardware choice

Hi, see my post below discussing a similar length link. That was using 2x SXT 5 ac's (http://routerboard.com/RBSXTG-5HPacD).

Re: Short distance / high bandwidth p2p hardware?

Thanks, that helps. I may be able to move things around and get somewhere between 40 and 50 m. What Rx/Tx signal would be in the "ideal" range?
You're welcome. Personally I usually aim for the -50's. But anything between -40 & -60 is likely OK.

Re: Short distance / high bandwidth p2p hardware?

Hi,

I recently set up a 35M link with 2x SXT5AC's. With the output power set to the minimum allowed (-30) I was able to get a rx signal around -44. So not too bad.

Hope that helps.

Re: all CCR crashed

Same here :(

3x CCR1009's all hard locked no winbox/serial. Had to go on-site and power cycle.

2x Running 6.29.1 + NTP package (whether that makes any diff). And 1x running latest rc22.

Re: FastTrack - New feature in 6.29

I'm guessing this doesn't work on vlan interfaces yet? Or have I missed something? Below from a CCR running 6.29rc14: /ip firewall filter add action=fasttrack-connection chain=forward comment="Accept established/related" connection-state=established,related in-interface=vlan10 add chain=fo...

Re: VLAN Tx Drops (CRS125)

Hi w0lt, Have you tried changing the interface queue type to ethernet-default? I still get some drops but not as many as with only-hardware-queue. /queue interface set ether1 queue=ethernet-default set ether2 queue=ethernet-default set ether3 queue=ethernet-default set ether4 queue=ethernet-default ...
