Re: v6.37rc [release candidate] is released, only one wireless package!

I had some trouble accessing the rc13 just now via the winbox system packages, so I just downloaded it from the site and all is fine so far. Other than that, I just wanted to say thanks for all the work and time you guys are putting in! Much love from Atlanta, GA, USA!

Re: Trying routerOS from pfsense

Came to this thread based on a fantasy I had and googled about running pfSense on MT hardware.  As for that last observation about the VPN/crypto performance, yeah that sounds about right.  When I set up an old WRT54G for VPN similarly, I was only able to get 2Mbps, and I've been meaning to get arou...

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server

My informal results so far have been the following:

Comcast Business class in Atlanta's West Side, probably lowest speed tier: 30Mbps down and 7Mbps up.
My Comcast residential in Marietta, GA: 29Mbps and 6Mbps up.
Charter residential in Roswell, GA: 65Mbps down and 4.2Mbps up.

Thanks again!

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server

This is perfect! Thanks so much for providing this. I was just looking into how I could accomplish some of these tests and I couldn't be happier to find it. Definitely enough to saturate the Comcast links I'm testing in Atlanta :).

Thanks again!

RB951G: increasing hw retries fixed slow downloads on my new Asus Zenfone 2

I was troubleshooting slow (~<4Mbps) downloads on my new phone and discovered that increasing the hw retries setting allowed it to get good (~20Mbps) speeds. I also noticed in the Wireless FAQ it says that setting a value, "going below 2 is not reasonable in most cases," but the default is...

Re: RouterOS not detecting traffic - Can't Mangle, use QoS.

I'm a bit new to this, but I've successfully gotten similar tasks done. It might be a good idea to post at least the relevant parts of your queue and mangle configs. I had a lot of confusion when I failed to see traffic going a certain direction in my queues, and I found out that I needed to fix my ...

Re: cacti: Mikrotik RouterOS Statistics (Update 11/19/2013)

Not sure if it's my version of cacti, (0.8.8a on a raspberry pi 2 running debian, had to edit the hash entries to get the new script to work on the old version, btw) but I had to fix the uptime graph by going in and changing the graph template items from LAST to AVERAGE.

I'm definitely getting a Not Found for the download link for that .zip.zip file.

Re: CCR Simple Queue - not working upload limiting.

Been playing with simple queues a lot lately and found something I wanted to share that might fix the issues relating to "download limits/queues are working but upload limits don't seem to work." I found that having a parent queue by itself worked ok for queueing/limiting my WAN link, but ...
