Using The Dude to help answer the phone

I had a few moments to write up and share how we are using The Dude to help answer the phones. We've been using this for well over a year and it has helped quite a bit. Outages will happen and customers will always call when there is an outage. Being a small provider, the less the phone rings, the b...

Re: Need to know why Citrix will drop connection with 3.30

citrix uses lots of small packets, do you have any limit rules enabled??
Just the queue that is created when the router gets a lease. But that is also there when they connect using the working RB532 w/2.9.51

Re: Need to know why Citrix will drop connection with 3.30

We just experienced a similar problem but with 4.9 Last week we switched out a client's RB532 w/2.9.51 to a RB750 w/4.9. The configuration on the router is pretty basic..DHCP client on ether1, a masquerade rule, no firewall rules enabled while troubleshooting and a dhcp server on ether2 with ether3,...

Re: RouterOS v4.5 released

What's new in 4.5: *) fixed DHCP client compatibility with some DHCP servers; I invented many new vulgarities over this and having to deal with the cable company until finally just giving up. But I must give credit to the wrt54g w/dd-wrt that worked without issue for the past 3 months. Now my Mikro...

Re: License problem in V4.2!

I had the same issue a couple weeks back. It took a minute for MT to get the problem resolved and to get back to me. But it is all good now. I am not sure what the problem was. Here is the response I received when I asked what happened: It does not happen every time, there is one very specific case,...

Re: NOT TO DO. Weird instalations?

A customer of ours was putting on a music festival and wanted live streaming audio. The park is in 2 blocks from our tower. Running Icecast relaying to a shoutcast server. It worked great!

Re: new feature:Dynamic ppp address-lists

We have tested the Dynamic Address-Lists with pppoe and it works great. Is there any plan to support this with DHCP? We have a mixed network with both PPPOE and DHCP clients.

Thank You
