Re: v6.42rc [release candidate] is released!

Could you please send us to support the supout file, we would like to take a look. Also, please explain in more detail what exactly did you do: did you upgrade from an earlier rc? Or from current version? From which? Thanks. 6.42rc28 wrecked my CHR on libvirtd / Qemu KVM setup. Virtio network interf...

Re: v6.42rc [release candidate] is released!

Could you please send the supout file to support, we would like to take a look at it. Which ESXi version are you using? I had a CHR that was originally installed on VMware ESXi some versions ago when only the bare disk image was available. (using the trick of converting the image to SCSI) It initial...

Re: CHR suggestions for new functionality

MT Support
is so difficult to create an iso version of CHR ?
because some KVM like ramnode dont allow to use virtual disk only iso
For easier installing we have introduced CHR in OVA format, it is available on the download page.

Re: CHR License

If your trial period ran out (60 days), you can not acquire new trial for the same CHR instance. You can either upgrade to paid license (available for 60days after the end of the trial period) or install a new CHR. Hey guys, I have some kind of the same issue with CHR license. It was registered with...

Re: CHR suggestions for new functionality

Google cloud requires features that are not possible to back-port to the version of the kernel that is used in the CHR. So unfortunately at the moment it is not possible to run the CHR on the Google cloud. We have several places where we run CHR on AWS, both as central location for management/vpn-te...

Hello, Is it possible to load the CHR 6.41rc31 ova in to esxi and then downgrade to 6.38.7? Thank you. Yes, you have to change the channel to 'bugfix'. Re: CHR suggestions for new functionality

Ok, the web interface does not suggest any name, the VM name field is blank when deploying an OVA: Is that a change that has been made? Or maybe it depends on VMware version and/or procedure used? In my case it suggested a name that included the version number. Please try the last version I posted ...

Re: CHR suggestions for new functionality

Yes. The .ova of course can have a version in its name, but the name suggested in the wizard when importing the .ova is better left generic. (and the note probably as well, although that can easily be edited afterwards when desired) Ok, the web interface does not suggest any name, the VM name field...

Re: CHR suggestions for new functionality

So you're saying that we should put a generic name inside the VMX, right? File name of the OVA can contain the version number right? 'displayName' and 'annotation' should just contain name without the version? Update. Did a test of my own with the previously published https://www.mikrotik.com/downlo...

Re: CHR suggestions for new functionality

Regarding OVF. You really think there's a "one for all" configuration that will satisfy most of the users? Users can adjust parameters after they installed the OVF. That is not a problem. MikroTik should be able to define parameters like disk size, amount of memory, required devices etc as they are...

Regarding OVF. There might be various scenarious how our users would use the CHR. In the OVF there's already specified RAM, HDD, Interface count, etc. - and it might be different for different use cases. Could you illustrate this with an example that currently this is not working and a VM tools feature is needed for this to be correctly displayed?

Re: Multiple routers and one CLI command

Not a very elegant solution, but for ocasional use try 'clusterssh'. For a more robust management API or scripting will be your best bet.

You can also set up SSH keys and issue commands via SSH:
ssh -i private.key yourusername@192.168.88.1 '/system resource print'
