Re: MPLS/VPLS Packet Loss and Slow Speeds

After much troubleshooting, I wanted to give an update. We plugged the RFC2544 appliance directly into the Trango backhaul. The test failed there. Speaking with their engineer, it sounded like a flow control issue. Theory was that when raw data is sent to the interface the traffic can be "bursty" - ...

Re: MPLS/VPLS Packet Loss and Slow Speeds

I have tested the backhaul capacity and it seems we have about 350 Mbps / 500 Mbps capacity overhead available. This user is requiring MPLS for this connection so I can't provide an EoIP tunnel and still satisfy them. Do you mean for testing purposes? And what specifically do you recommend to change...

MPLS/VPLS Packet Loss and Slow Speeds

I am troubleshooting packet loss and slower than expected throughput in a VPLS tunnel. Hopefully somebody here can point me in the right direction? Here is the setup: VPLS on Bridge Interface, CCR1016-12S-1S+ <--trango backahaul--> LDP Interface, CCR1036-12G-4S <--trango backahaul--> VPLS on Bridge ...

Re: How to prevent DHCP server from issuing an IP?

That's what I had thought to do first off and it didn't work when I tried before I posted. I looked at it again now as you mentioned this, and I see I put the static lease I made earlier on the wrong subnet. 10.80.0.184 instead of 10.81.0.184 ...Facepalm! edit: Just to clarify this is solved. Here i...

How to prevent DHCP server from issuing an IP?

I am trying to keep the DHCP Server from issuing an IP that is already in use, but was not issued by the server. Background: I have a DHCP server setup to issue IP addresses from a pool. Example: 10.81.0.1/24 I have some field techs who think they are real wise guys setting things with a static IP, ...

Re: Public-Mikrotik-Bandwidth-Test-Server(s)

Tom Jones and planetcoop, thank you so much for sharing your band-width us. (bad pun)

As you can see, I am able to fill my 1G pipe at Tomjones =)

Although I noticed I can't connect to planetcoop and it looks like my IP block is in your blacklist. Can I be whitelisted for 162.255.156.0/22 ?

Re: SFP Bonding Possible Between Cisco and CCR?

We do have the "LACP Rate"= 1 s. While working with their technician, I recall him waiting for us to "bring up" our side, as if we had it disabled- which we did not. Presumably his end showing us as down. Perhaps he needed to re enable the interface on the Cisco? The hard part is they are speaking C...

SFP Bonding Possible Between Cisco and CCR?

We just activated 2 x 1 Gbps fibers for IP transit. We had hoped to aggregate the capacity for both of them to effectively get a virtual single 2Gbps edge connection. Here is the setup: (we are running RouterOS 6.38.5) Cisco 3600 < - - >sfp7 Mikrotik CCR 1016-12S-1S+ Cisco 3600 < - - >sfp8 Mikrotik ...

Re: ATT Microcell Port Forwarding difficulties

I was never able to find a solution for this, unfortunately. We changed our policy to state that we do not support Microcells. At this point I am convinced it does not have anything to do with port forwarding. As others in this thread have pointed out, it's a SRC-NAT connection and we still have peo...

Re: ATT Microcell Port Forwarding difficulties

1. I did not know one could log into the microcell, or do you mean the online management portal? I figured that AT&T doesn't want you to log into it, I can't find any documentation though I'd be willing to try if anyone knows how. I can have them log in to the AT&T portal. Otherwise, I was told the ...

ATT Microcell Port Forwarding difficulties

My Problem: AT&T Network Cisco Microcell won't work. Specifically, AT&T support says the ports are not open for the microcell and thus it won't register. What is odd is that the Microcell was installed without port forwarding and worked fine for months. After an outage with our tower where this per...
