Meltdown and Spectre Security Vulnerabilities on x86

I just learned about the Meltdown and Spectre attacks (CVE-2017-5754, CVE-2017-5753, CVE-2017-5715).

How vulnerable are our x86 routers? When will a patch be available?

Looking for a official word from Mikrotik.

I would like to see support for ARP change detection. For instance, say 00:DE:AD:BE:EF:00 was assigned to 192.168.0.2 on ether8. Then half a second later it mysteriously appeared on ether2. Then back to ether8. Basically, people are stealing internet service from me by cloning MAC and IP addresses o...

Is there a way to set up an address list to bypass the hotspot? I know I can add firewall rules ahead of the hotspot firewall entries, but when I disable and re-enable the hotspot server my rules are bumped to the bottom and stop working.

Any help is appreciated!

I don't know if it is too late to request this in the 5-series firmware, but some smaller channel widths would be great! Re: Upgrading OS FROM 2.8 to 4.0 Beta 3 ?

Not cool dude.... You should try to keep you router software at least somewhat current. Preventative maintenance is VERY important - Intel/Centrino-based chipsets can't even wirelessly associate to 2.8 series firmware radios, much less browse the internet. My first word of advice - PULL the running ...

Re: Notice of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) Depletion

Yes, we are. We had to add a Cisco overbuild in the core for IPv6 compatibility, as Mikrotik's IPv6 support is still a joke. We have secondary SSIDs on our Mikrotik hotspots running WPA-ENT tagged to a VLAN that hands off to Cisco parameter routers. People still have to register using the hotspot pa...

Feature Request - Access if Radius is Down

I would like an option added such that if any or all radius servers time out then a user is permitted to log in instead of being blocked. This way if our radius fails for any length of time it is an inconvenience instead of a catastrophe. Additionally, the option would have to include the ability to...

There is no need to use high power wireless cards if you need to only up to 14db output power. True... The problem is that you rarely know you only need 14dB of power or less until after equipment installation at a customer's site. It is preferable to err high and back the power off than err low an...
