mynetname.net is provided by MikroTik. All it does is maps this DNS name to your public IP address. It has nothing to do with VPN at all. You must allow VPN connections in your router firewall and do proper configuration for the server and profiles. Will this work if its behind another router? Or d...

I thought your architecture was: (website) -.-.-.-.-.- (hotstpot server) ----- (customer routers) And thus the customer's router's MAC WOULD be the correct value in this situation. Re: Router MAC

MAC is a supported variable in the hotspot page code. http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Customizing_Hotspot#List_of_available_variables You could make the login page on the hotspot redirect to a URL which includes the mac in the URL as a GET variable: http://myhostpotpage.example.com/signup.php?...

Re: Feature Request: URL as an option for radius IP

Of course. The VPN is used only for management and things like RADIUS. Keep it all in a local subnet e.g. under 10.x.x.x. The actual user and internet traffic is routed directly. Awesome! I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server that hosts my radius server. Will the build in windows VPN server work? Or do y...

Re: Feature Request: URL as an option for radius IP

Sure it could be convenient. However, I would advise to deploy a VPN for management and authentication. The bonus for cases like this is that you can have a fixed IP for your RADIUS server within the VPN. But it also simplifies the correct firewalling against break-in attempts. That's a great sugge...

Feature Request: URL as an option for radius IP

Hi,

It would be nice if we could put a domain or URL in place of an IP. There are times when the IP could change and having to put an actual IP makes it difficult to chance every device we have deployed. (ie radius1.mydomain.com)

Chances are it's not something "special" they are doing as much as it is relying on the newer operating systems/mobile devices ability to detect that there is a login page and that people need to sign into the network. rb751u-2hnd Simple Queue

Hi,

I am trying to get a simple queue working in a rb751u-2hnd but its ignoring it. I have the same queue set up in a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN and it works fine.

Does the rb751u-2hnd not support a simple queue?

What I need to do is throttle everyone down to 512k by IP address.

Can anyone help?
