Re: IXP only traffic

Good to hear. We are using large communities. We tag incoming routes this way: own-as:information-id:value Example: Say our AS is 65536 We use following information types: 40: Country 40:1 Germany 40:2 Netherlands 41: City 41:1 Frankfurt 41:2 Amsterdam 42: Internet-Exchange 42:1 De-CIX FRA 42:2 AMS...

Re: IXP only traffic

Your post about communities was very illuminating for me, but reading the myManga post further, he is trying to handle a failover scenario as well. The reality is that if your IXP goes down (I know what happened to the DC you use the other night BTW) then the routes you send to your customers will ...

Re: IXP only traffic

You should use filters on incoming prefixes to assign self defined communities to the prefixes. So you could tag all prefeixes learned at an IXP with your "IXP community" and all prefiexes learned from your upstream with your "upstream community". Then you can define a filter to...

Weird Prefix Count ROS 7.10

I am running two CCR 2216 and one CCR2116 in 3 different datacenters as BGP Routers. I just noticed my prefix count on some sessions are unrealistically high, 4billion plus, 🤷🏽‍♂️. Attached is a screenshot of one such router. Is this a ROS7 bug, and should I be worried?

Re: Route private subnets though seperate dedicated Public IPs

Sorry for the bad explanation. I meant depending on which subnet you're in, you use a different Public IP to access the internet. So if for example, if a home user does something malicious on the internet, and that public IP is blacklisted, users in the home subnet are affected alone. The users in t...

Route private subnets though seperate dedicated Public IPs

Hi, here is my scenario. Private subnets 10.10.1.0/24 - home users 10.10.2.0/24 - business users 10.10.3.0/24 - management Public Subnet 2.2.2.0/29 I am trying to assign each subnet its own public IP to access the internet as below 10.10.1.0/24 - > 2.2.2.1 10.10.2.0/24 - > 2.2.2.2 10.10.3.0/24 - > 2...

Re: CRS112-8p-4s won't boot

If all the led go on and keeping on, in the exact moment you power on the device,
you must dispose the device following your state rules.
Meaning it's dead??

Re: CRS112-8p-4s won't boot

That unfortunally looks like it's stuck in bootup. Maybe it's possible to netinstall, maybe not.

The PoE leds is the top row. Bottom row is link/activity.
I tried this, but the ethernet ports don't seem to come up

CRS112-8p-4s won't boot

So got a CRS112-8P-4S recently, setup 6 passive PoE devices, UBNT Rocket prisms. Everything was working fine for like a month. One day I come and find 3 of the ports blinking red on the PoE LEDs. and the devices connected don't respond, thought the switch was reachable. So I decided to reboot. The s...
