Re: v6.44 [stable] is released!

Static host route is very unreliable in this release. I have a web server that I need to reach through another gateway and it works sporadically.

I didn't count but it works approx. 30 seconds and then a timeout for 30 seconds and so on.

No Internet usually means that DNS resolution of an address failed, or routing problem. My first step would be ping and traceroute my own LAN, then my ISPs first host (gateway), and finally any hosts on the Internet. If all that works, then you can be sure that the DNS service is the problem.

Since it's a switch on that NIC, you don't need to worry about the speed between the computers connected to it, only the traffic through the MikroTik router. Each port in the switch has a dedicated 200 Mbps channel, 100 Mbps upstream and 100 Mbps downstream.

Re: remove masquerade

There is obviously a reason why there is a masquerade rule to the destination address yy.yy.yy.25. The reason might be that the network/host on one side of your router is unknown for the other network, and if that is the case, you need a routing rule for that particular network/host.

Duplicate MAC Addresses

I have a Media Access Control (MAC) address conflict with another router in the network. Is it possible to change the address in the 2.8.28 RouterOS?

The MAC addresses are assigned to the NIC in the motherboard, and I do not feel to rip it out and replace it with a new one.

Thanks in advance.

Re: atheros ar5213 lot of problems, low lange, big pings ...

I tryed all versions of MT from 2.8.10 -2.9b6, and I changed 3 computers and two wireless cards. One card is D-link DWL-G520 HW. version B2, FW 3.1.6 and other card is I've tried almost every cheap atheros based cards that I can buy in my country, and the card above is the one I found are working p...

I read that a typical cell phone generates an average RF power level of 0.6 W for an analog unit and less for a digital unit. The newer code division multiple access (CDMA) models have adaptive level control, so they send the minimum signal necessary to satisfy the base station. For example, Nokia 3...

@piwi3910 Turbo mode means that your card use 2 channels, so if you have a good signal and set your card in 54Mbit or auto, windows will connect at 108Mbit, but only if you set the channel to 2437. @mip D-Link DWL-G520 is one of the best cheap wireless cards I've tested in MikroTik RouterOS. ...

Like the other guy said, your cell phone is putting out 200mw right at your head. Depending on the cell phone and distance to the base station, RF output can be as high as 2 Watt, but the Specific Absorption Rates (SAR) value from Coussas hotspot antenna is nothing compared to talking in a cell pho...

I couldn't find that info and I searched a lot. Anyway, dhcp requests can obviously be bridged. Every clients associated with the access point get an IP address from the dhcp server connected to the switch.

There is an option in the MikroTik driver settings were you can add and "copy-from" and I guess that you can upload a driver with ftp and then run this command.

Have anyone did that and where do you get the driver from?

Realtek 8201

I can't get Realtek 8201 LAN interfaces to work with MikroTik. In the routers PCI resources, it shows up as an NVIDIA nForce Ethernet Controller. I think the kernel module is nvnet and should be included in the 2.4 kernel, but I might be wrong about that.

Okey, I have to admit that Turbo mode works with Atheros AR5212 and AR5213 in Mikrotik 2.8.17

Only one channel works in Turbo mode with my wireless cards, it's 2.437GHz

In the 2.9beta, this is the only frequence in the list.
