Don´t use Mikrotik for substitute the Cisco VPN.

Good luck if you want to use Mikrotik with IPSec Hardware Accelerate for VPN site-to-site.
Choose the best hardware and multiple for 4.
configure only the basic manuals, do not try to reinvent, nor try to use dynamic routing.

Well, HEX S is $10 more expensive than HEX. If there is hAP S ac2 in the future, and it's $10 more expensive than hAP ac2, I'll definitely buy it.

HAP ac2 S would solve my problem of providing 90Mbps+ to the end user.

Again mikrotik adjusts the product without at least providing some indication visible in part number or serial number. (like RevA or RevB)
We have to open the equipment to do a visual inspection of the product. (sad thing)

@vecernik87 - btest in mode TCP use many CPU cycles. What was the CPU usage?

Try btest in mode UDP in one direction at time or monitoring both hAP traffic.

I can not perform this test because the product is not available for purchase in my country. The same as it was maybe I did not buy.

We use Ubiquiti AP with Mikrotik router because Ubiquiti does not have a decent router / firewall integrated with Wi-Fi AP in a single product.
Using the Ubiquiti firewall + AP is not competitively priced.

I'm also using Ubiquiti APs with Mikrotik routers.
When Ubiquiti has a decent and cheaper firewall also use.
If they could integrate the firewall with wireless better yet.

Try disable (r)stp .
I have many problems with this. Mikrotik products have not been very good with L2 protocols.
But this can cause other problems depending on your infrastructure. So be careful.

Cisco have the clear channel technology.
Basically the Cisco AP is monitoring the channel if it detects a lot of interference it changes channels automatically.

I believe this can be treated as a feature request to be implemented by Mikrotik. Because large vendors already have a server load balanced solution: F5 Networks, A10, Cisco... There is even an open source implementation. Is a very lucrative market as companies are looking for this high availability...

It works forever until it breaks. Keep it cold and feed it by quality electric energy and it will be working for ages.

Remember the hEX is a "cheap" router and as such is built to a price point. They are more than likely built to exceed standard manufacturer warranty 8760 hours.

Timeout from the primary dns then the request is made for the secondary dns.

With sniffer I have seen some android devices performing concurrent queries for all DNS at the same time and the secondary server responds faster.

How much more expensive? Compared to other decent manufacturers the MTs are very cheap, at least in the Brazilian market. I believe there are many customers willing to pay a little more for performance and features. I would be. Hardly believe MT can not afford to put any decent CPU into this switch....

The routerboard RB951Ui-2nD has overload protection circuit in the USB port?

Or some other router with usb port?
